According to CNN, these warships are (TCSG UMUT) and (TCSG YASAM), the first was departed from the port of Marmara in northern Turkey, while the second out of the port of Mersin in the south of the country. The two warships have now reached 78 nautical miles near Libyan territorial waters. While some Turkish officials have stated that the task of these warships is to “fight drug trafficking,” several Libyan activists questioned the authenticity of the Turkish narrative. “The Turkish warplanes only came to support the armed groups fighting with the government of Fayez al-Sarraj in Tripoli against the Libyan National Army,” activists believe.
