ARMENIA TO SEND PEACEKEEPERS TO AFGHANISTAN Interfax July 21 2009 Russia Armenia will send peacekeepers to Afghanistan late this year and is in talks to that effect with Germany, Armenia's defense minister said on Tuesday. The minister, Seiran Ohanian, who was talking to reporters, did not say how many servicemen would go to Afghanistan. He said many of the former members of the Soviet forces that fought in Afghanistan during the former Soviet Union's war of 1979-1989 in that country wish to join the Armenian peacekeeping force to be deployed there. Yerevan should also remember that at the height of the Artsakh Saga there were many war hardened Afghani mujaheddin and kaeda in the so called boobistan armed forces. It is time every one left the Afghanis alone to regress back to their main "culture" i.e the "culture" of Opium?dope, the only culture and economy they know. AK-47 Posted July 23, 2009 Report Share Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) Even though Afghanistan is the last country that deserves an Armenian peacekeeping force given how the Mujaheddin fought against us in the Artsakh war, an acceptable idea as long as the troops remain non-combat ones and away from the danger areas to the south and east of Afghanistan. Our alliance with Russia must not prevent us from trying to gain a good standing with the West as well, we need to continue balancing our relations with both. The Azerbaboons have troops in Afghanistan so it is necessary to counter this by sending our own just like we did in Iraq.
