"Robert Kocharian's satisfaction with the government is not
unfounded," writes "Haykakan Zhamanak." The situation in the country's
leadership is "exceptional," with "nobody confronting the president."
Kocharian will see "the possibility of a serious economic growth" (as
he said on Thursday) as long as the government does not challenge him,
the paper says sarcastically.

"Golos Armenii" makes the point that Kocharian has lost touch with the
people and urges him to go public with his vision of Armenia's
future. "Speak up or you will lose," reads a headline in the
Russian-language paper. The president does not seem to show interest
in his fellow citizens' day-to-day struggle for survival. "The
president is obliged to say: 'today I have done this, tomorrow I will
do that.' Especially when he has something to present." He should
simply try to instill some hope about the future in the minds of
ordinary Armenians.
