121212, Twelve Twelve Twelve
The magic number
http://www.armenianow.com/multimedia/feature_photo/41919/76_on_121212

76 on 12/12/12 The Mayans say the world will end in nine days, but in Yerevan on the last "Golden" day of this century (12th year,12th month, 12th day), 76 couples (and at least one pouting little attendant) enjoyed winter weddings.

This won’t happen this century. Not until the next Millennium, except if we adopt the Armenian Calendar with 30 months.

What is so magical about the number 12?

In a world of numbers, 12 has a special place in religion, myth, math

The number is everywhere, no more so than today, carrying significance in religion and jurisprudence and math and the arts and mythology and the cosmos.
Search hard enough, and you can attach import to any number. But with the number 12 it takes little effort: The number carries significance across cultures and time.
Today is Dec. 12, 2012, aka 12/12/12. (We've had this trifecta every year since the first day of the new millennium — 01/01/01 — but such a calendar triplicate won't happen again until 2101.) Here are 12 examples of how 12 looms large in various aspects of history and life:
It's perhaps the most significant number in the Bible. The number is omnipresent, from the 12 Tribes of Israel to the 12 disciples of Jesus Christ (who was 12 when he entered the temple). "Building off of Judaism, the number 12 is going to factor significantly," said Jeffrey Marlett, an associate professor in the Department of Religious Studies as The College of Saint Rose. "Historically, for me, it goes back to the origins of Judaism and Christianity's development from Judaism. Christians found the number very important."
The 12 Days of Christmas. The number of days lauded in song marks the time between Christmas and the Feast of the Epiphany.
Now look at Greek mythology. There were 12 Olympic gods, and Hercules had to undertake 12 labors as penance for murdering his children after being driven mad by Hera.
And zodiac signs. There are 12 zodiac signs in Western, Indian and Chinese cultures.
It's the number of function keys on a PC No, you are not expected to know what each one does. We hope.
Twelve is a frequent unit of measurement. There are 12 hours on an analog clock, 12 months in a year, 12 inches in a foot, 12 pence in a shilling, 12 notes in an octave and 12 in a dozen.
There have been 12 men to walk on the moon. Here is your random fact of the day: Apollo 17 astronaut Harrison "Jack" Schmitt was the last man to walk onto the moon, but crewmate Eugene Cernan was the last man to depart the moon.
There are 12 basic hues on a color wheel. "You have your three basic primary colors: red, blue and yellow," said Tammy Clifford, a painter who also works at Arlene's Artist Materials in Albany. "Then you have your secondary: orange, purple and green. So every time you mix, you double."
The knights at King Arthur's Round Table: 12, or ... This gets a huge asterisk, since the number of knights range from 12 to as high as 1,600, depending on the telling of the tale. Although the legend takes place hundreds of years earlier, the Round Table first appears in literature in ... the 12th century.
The "12th Man." Generically applied to American football fans, who complement the 11 home players on the field. Especially recognized in Seattle.
12-step programs. They are modeled after the original, Alcoholics Anonymous, which debuted in the mid-1930s.
Normal number of jurors in a trial. According to Albany Law School professor Michael J. Hutter Jr., the reason most juries are composed of 12 members comes down to a single word: tradition. "The origins are (King) Henry II," he said. "The English had a system of determining land disputes. They would simply select 12 men. Why 12? That just seems like a popular number back then. ... No one seems to know."

Many items are packaged and sold in dozens, like donuts, eggs and more.
Who knows what Bakers’ Dozen is. It usually means 13.
