I was expecting that the Armenian Apostolic Church would call for a ban of abortions in Armenia (if it did not done so already) but it looks the Georgian clergy have taken the lead. Many Georgians regard Armenians to be "cruel" selfish people with no regard to human rights --is this silence against abortion in Armenia proves the Georgian point regarding the Armenian character?
Georgian Patriarch is saying that "a million abortions takes place annually in Georgia" which makes us believe that in Armenia at least half a million abortions are done annually according to unofficial data? So immigration would not explain completely why the population of Armenia is declining steadily.
Speaking of Georgia, her hero Saakashvili is moving to USA to teach as professor/lecturer in a university; which means he would a few short steps away to be elected as secretary of nations united or as vice president of US in order to bring order to this teetering troubled world with an iron hand as he did in Georgia, a rose in one hand and an iron bar in another, eliminating corruption and swindling in that country and leading it to a new path toward the West.
Georgian Patriarch stands for ban on abortion in countryTbilisi, Georgia, Jan. 7
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:
Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II is standing for a ban on abortion in the country. This is stated in his Christmas message to believers. It was read out at night at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi.
"A million abortions take place annually in Georgia according to the unofficial data and no one can stop it," the message said.
"Scientific progress today has created an ethical problem in the form of so-called 'test-tube babies'," the message said. "Surrogate mothers, cloning and in vitro fertilisation have appeared."
