February 21, Chairman of the Artsakh Parliament Ashot Ghoulyan received the deputy of the Argentine Republic, Brenda Austin and the representative of the Hay Dat office in Argentina, Nicholas Sabunjian, who arrived in Artsakh with the observation mission to the referendum on the draft constitution.

Welcoming the guests, Head of the Parliament expressed his appreciation for the work done in these days, noting that observers’ offers help Artsakh to step by step improve the procedure for holding referenda and elections.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Brenda Austin added that inviting observers to witness the democratic process – the referendum – speaks to the maturity of the state institutions in the country.

“I’ve visited 7 polling stations and was very impressed bythe high preparedness, control of the election process and the work of the commission members, accuracy of lists, solidarity and awareness of people. Even we, the observers were guided not to do anything out of the rules. It is evident that hard and long-lasting work has been done “, – said the Argentinian parliamentarian.

Afterwards, at the request of the observers, Ashot Ghoulyan has presented the background to the constitutional reforms and answered their questions

The meeting was attended by deputy chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Budget, Financial and Economic Management, Armo Tsatryan.
