Pics are from this weekend ... was a nice 7 hour drive each way but well worth it. Woke up Saturday morning to some snow on the jeep! I am very glad I didn't camp (unlike some of the other guys in the group ) That was a nice surprise. It was cold and chilly but the scenery and the action more than made up for it.

It's just a beanie ... my ears were about to snap off from the cold wind so it was an absolute necessity at the time (<--- lol )



That one is actually my brother's hat that I kinda stole from him a couple of years ago since it's so nice and warm ... he doesn't need it in LA anyway.

Edit: I can tell you this though ... they don't seem to be in the backcountry of Minnesota. So I'm sorta taking this process of elimination, Sherlock Holmes style .. i.e. once you eliminate the impossible, whatever left, however improbable is the answer. I still have a lot of ground to cover though but I'll eventually get there (i.e. where they are )!!!

And that Sherlock Holmes process is called "deduction" But your "deduction" seems a very long process. Hey, but Minnietsotta sounds kinda lively, no?

This was more of a relaxing trip with not too many challenges as the group I was with mostly had stock vehicles ... so I spent most of the day either dragging the ones that were stuck or spotting the rest over the obstacles.

I did however had one "oh sh!t" moment ... I was leading at the time through this tight section of trail going down a hill .. there was a sharp right turn and a huge drop off from the other side so naturally I stayed close to the inside of the turn ... what I couldn't see was that there was a huge rock and a BIG drop right after it!

So basically my front passenger wheel fell in that hole while my rear driver wheel went in the air and I got really sideways ... I couldn't do much as I had a huge drop to my left and couldn't really back up and I had no idea what was ahead of me because at this point I couldn't really see anything. Well, somehow I managed to get the jeep back on 4 wheels but yah glad I took extra underwear with me

Nice adveture Sip!I am a little bit jelous....nice dirtbike riding roads.You are cheating though.Cars are cars no matter what four wheels "saFe" If you try riding dirtbike you'll love it since you feel one with the envirnment and the control not to mention arial tangos They are cheap buy one 250 cc and try.

HERE (~14MB wmv file so not for dialup) is a video of some slow crawling I was doing through a rock garden that a friend of mine shot and edited and sent it to me. Me and another guy with a lifted chevy truck went down it and realized that the rest would definitely have lots of problems so we decided to come back and find another route.

As a hint, if you try a few times on a line and you can't make it, it's not a bad idea to get out and check if you don't have someone spotting you!

In the video it's hard to tell but it's actually somewhat of a steep section going downhill and coming back up. That's why in some places it was hard to get traction, especially on the wet rocks.

Getting the big truck back up was quite a different story
