Oh yes, definitely. If it's as good as I think it is, I'll give a quick review once I've used it.
Korelyi jan, I too have many dictionaries on Armenian:
(1 Armenian to English dictionary)
And about 4 English to Armenian dictionaries. What I want to say is that I am very fascinated with Armenian, so much so, that I have all these dictionaries to look up words in lol
I wanted to know if there are any programmers out there, that can help me put together a computer program (for XP and Vista) so we can basically DIGITALIZE these dictionaries. Cause me personally, it got to the point where I was (and still am...) frustrated with finding words I am looking for.
These dictionaries that I have, especially the English to Armenian ones (1 is in E. Armenian from '91 I believe, and the rest are W. Armenian) are very veryyyyy good! I have this one Western Armenian dictionary - "@ntarcag Parraran" (@ndardzak Barraran) which was... get this... made in 1922~!!!! Oh, and regarding the pages and words and all, since you had mentioned previously on other dictionaries... this one is 1,424 pages in length!
Guys I'm really serious about this, I will help to the fullest extent, the thing is I am not a program writer, nor do I know anything on how to write such programs lol This is really important to digitize such things, especially with conflicting words from each dictionary. Like for example, the Eastern Armenian dictionary I have from 1991 (I am E. Armenian btw), the word "tunnel" they have the Armenian equivalent to be "tunel" (in Armenian letters lol)... BUTTTTT the 1922 version has the correct way Փապուղի (Papughi). Basically what I'm trying to say is that if we can put a program together, we can incorporate ALL THESE DICTIONARIES together into ONE! On top of which, it would be digitalized, and the person trying to find the word could essentially choose which one it views as the best translation.
I can give my phone # and all to anyone who would be interested in doing this with me. I really want to do something beneficial to the Armenian community, and I think this would be just a MAGNIFICENT treasure for all Armenians everywhere in the world!
