• In the coming future, in Gyumri, one more church will be constructed, the church of the St. Saviour. The construction works had been financed by the family of the mayor, Vardan Ghukasyan.
  
  
  
  
  -St. Grigor Lusavorich is constructed in Yerevan with the efforts of the entire nation. We do not have such possibilities, but it should be mentioned that this church is quite difficult in terms of its architectural construction, says the mayor.
  
  
  
  
  Shirak diocese and St. Etchmiadzin has no connection to the construction of this church.
  
  
  
  
  -For 12 years I had turned to St. Etchmiadzin with the request to help with the restoration of the St. Saviour church, says Shirak diocese leader Michael the bishop Adjapahyan. However, despite the fact that this church is important for us, for St. Etchmiadzin it is not so important. St. Etchmiadzin has other serious problems.
  
  
  
  
  After the completion of the construction works, the mayor is going to turn to St. Etchmiadzin to ask to help with the interior of the church. On this stage the opinion of St. Etchmiadzin will be taken into consideration in order not to infringe the traditions of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The bishop had announced that the entire internal works will be carried out on the means of the church.
  
  
  
  
  -The financing is significant, it is the interior, the furniture, the heating and the electrification works, says the diocese leader. However, the most important is that the church will be opened soon.
