I mean shat(b)athakhos.
And Kiraknakhos would be total silence.
Btw. Harut, is that ourbathakhos a real word? This is the first I hear it.
i think this word has very funny origin, i'm not sure though.
i think it has been in use after Daniel Defoe's "Robinson Crusoe".

Anyone know this song?
Makhmur Aghchik
Words by Silva Kaputikian, music by Kh. Avetisian
Makhmur aghchik,
Qich tkhur aghchik,
Achqerd hazarakhos,
Shurth@d lour aghchik
Ernek nran,
Ov vor kanqni qo dran,
Jour@d khmi,
Kathnaghbyur aghchik.
Nazov aghchik,
Thukh mazov aghchik,
Tsaghik es, chtharames,
Murazov aghchik.
Mna qnqush,
Bourir buyrov qo anush,
Ashkharh ltsru,
Erazov aghchik.
Does not Silva know that "achqer" is redundant at best as "achq" is already a plural of "ach"?
Here is another by Silva about eyes.

Here are some synonyms of Khumar; Zarthkhum, makhmur, khumarutyun(harbetsutyunn antsats vujak) Ginarp, ginarpuq, harbetsutyun, khum Khenth Qaghtsrahayatsq, qaghtsrachq, dourachq, qaghtsranayvatsq, dourekan,dourali. (Makhmur, see khumar).
Khumar= drunken (eyes).
I knew it was from the Arabic. They still use words like, khamr, khamir, khmmarah (brewery, drinking place/bar). They are all from "khamr", to brew, to ferment. Ajarian says they are all from the Assyrian "xamr" and most and all ME languages have borrowed from, including Arabic, Aramaic, and even Hebrew.
We also use it, not so much as "ferment" but as "leaven". Xmor/Khmor =dough.
I would have sworn that the Armenian word for "drink", "khum/khmel" would have been derived from it. According to Ajarian "khum" is from the Caucasian languages to mean "reception". It makes sense in a way but why Hrachya did not link the two together? Consider; "ker-u-khum", eat and drink/party?
Btw. The native Armenian word for "drink" is "ump/@mpel".
Anyone know this song?
Khumar parker yeres bats,
Hopina, hopina, hopina, hoppa..
Or this;
Khmenq Hayreniq kenats@d erkov,
Lines erjanik, qaj mnas misht andorr
La rit tmplalla ha ha ha...
Or even; "Seghanner arat, dimatsn Ararat... Vertsnenq @nkerner bazhakner@ li.."
Edit. Before I forget. My Persian dictionary lists;
Khumar= Wine headache, hangover. Half drunk(of eyes)...
Khamir= Dough, paste.
Khamir tursh=yeast, leaven. (have you wondered where "turshi"=pickle comes from)?
Is all this connected to the Persian word "khumra", that means large eartheware, vat?

It is from the Arabic "qawad" and for that reason it is spelled with the hyun and not vev to further illustrate that the hyun was originally meant to sound like English W or the Arabic WOW.
The native Armenian for that profession is "bozavag". Turks and Arabs have borrowed it and use it as an extremely insulting expression.
