THE FOREIGN MINISTER OF ARMENIA HAD A MEETING WITH THE GENERAL SECRETARY OF NATO IN BRUSSELS.

14.06.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The foreign minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian who is on a business visit in Brussels, had a meeting on June 13 with the General Secretary of NATO George Robertson, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the ministry of foreign affairs of Armenia.
In the course of the meeting the head of the ministry of foreign affairs of Armenia represented the current stage of the peace settlement of the Artsax conflict. Mr. Oskanian stressed the fact that the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan have declared again about their readiness to achieve the settlement of the conflict by means of mutual concessions.
The foreign minister reported that Armenia strives for an active participation in the NATO program "Partnership For Peace". In reply the general secretary of NATO noted that cooperation within the frameworks of this program will promote establishing peace and stability in the region.
After the meeting the interlocutors discussed the details of the visit of the general secretary of NATO, Lord Robertson to Armenia fixed on September 28. -0-
