Members of ADL "Panos Terlemezian" youth club of Shirak carried out an eco-tour to Harichavank on August 16. The goal of the eco-tour was to clean the territory of the monastery complex from garbage, organize active rest, communicate with each other, visit the Harichavank spiritual seminary.

After getting acquainted with the new members of ADL youth club, the participants examined the Harich monastery and its history, in which the club member Martun Hovhannisyan, being a local resident, helped a lot. He knew the monastery construction history very well.

Harichavank is an ancient medieval Armenian monastery, and the oldest building was built in the 7th century: it's St. Grigor Church.

ADL young members cleaned the monastery territory from garbage. The photo and video material was also prepared, particularly a poster with the following message: "KEEP THE AREA OF HARICHAVANK CLEAN", addressed to the population. Because of the road length and the scattered garbage it is possible not to notice the poster but if one looks carefully, he can see the large amounts of garbage, causing great damage to the nature. Besides, it is unpleasant to see the area of the monastery complex in garbage, when a large number of tourists visit it daily.

Liana, one of the youth club members, photographed the whole eco-tour.

So, the club's mission was complete, and we came back home with unforgettable impressions.
