It's amazing how one gets distracted when trying to do something simple like ... check her mail. When I opened yahoo the featured article about gifts given to Obama by foreign leaders caught my attention. As I read it I came across the Federal Register records of the gifts received in 2009 (attached). I then noticed that Gul had given Obama cufflinks made by one Sevan Bicakci. Of course I googled Sevan Bicakci and as expected he turned out to be Armenian.

Many Armenians have the family name “buchakjian/bichakjian”, which literally means “knife maker” an artist of sorts. Or, even a "knife weilder" as in butcher.
Search and see "buchakjian".

BTW. The surname of that artist will be read as "bichakji".
