Landscape?
Has anyone here heard or seen this word?
I first saw it here;
I had no idea until I read the English version and saw that it corresponded to “landscape”.
Ajarian, understandably , and Sukiasian ignore it, except a certain Soviet times dictionary does in fact say - Landscape=Լանդշաֆտ. Another Diasporan dictionary has it as բնանկար=nature scene.
It took me a while to see that it looked and sounded German. Seems I was not too far off. See here . Dutch?
If the Dutch call “landscape as “ land-ship” then what do they call as “seascape”?
Definition of LANDSCAPE
1 a : a picture representing a view of natural inland scenery b : the art of depicting such scenery 2 a : the landforms of a region in the aggregate b : a portion of territory that can be viewed at one time from one place c : a particular area of activity : scene <the political landscape> 3 obsolete : vista, prospect …
Origin of LANDSCAPE
Dutch landschap, from land + -schap -ship
First Known Use: 1598
The curious thing above is “land+ship”.
]
Another mystery solved? Look what the Russians call "landscape"= ландшафт
Did Hovannes Ayavzian -ԾՈՎԱՆԿԱՐԻՉ- label his Seascape creations , like this and many others as “սիշաֆտ, ծովշաֆտ”?

And what did Sarian call his Landscapes like this and others, ԲՆԱՆԿԱՐ or լանդշաֆտ?

Note. When you go to “print” it will give options like “portrait” = vertical or “landscape” =horizontal.
