When we were in Yeravan they were installing gas lines above ground. This man was heating the steel pipe, with an acetylene torch,  making the bends necessary. What a good idea, what saving in fittings. 

 

The pipe in the picture is PVC heated with a heat gun.and formed while softened. Different material but the idea is the same. I bend plastic electrical conduit also.

 

I thought this might be of interest to some and you might be able to use this one day.
