Vahagn Akopyan, 33, was arrested by Armenian authorities in the capital of Yerevan on Wednesday, said J. Stephen Tidwell, assistant director in charge of the FBI office in Los Angeles.
Akopyan was being held until it was determined whether he will be deported to the United States or charged in Armenia, Tidwell announced Thursday.
Akopyan had been sought in connection with the May 1994 murder of two reputed gang rivals and the attempted murder of a third on Hollywood Boulevard.
He was believed to have returned to his native Armenian shortly after the killings. A state arrest warrant was issued in 1994 and a federal warrant accusing him of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued in 2002.

he helped the young armenian kids that were coming from armenia into america and were getting preyed on by larger mexican gangs and people , so he helped defend his race so they can stand on there two feet.
the reason he killed was if he hadn't killed , more then likely he would have got killed that day... in the hollywood armenian community or even glendale you mention his name alot of old people not young 16 year olds more matured people will tell you what a person he was.
so by arresting him in armenia was a dog act. specially when the armenian authroties helped the fbi get him , his been wanted for 12 years. once living in armenia he has done no criminal activity , he did not kill an armenian. so i think the armenian people in armenia fkd up by handing him over.
