Hello everyone, really glad to be on this forum i found by chance.
I have a question, I hope i'm posting in the right place.
I tried to look for a list of french companies located in Yerevan. As i am thinking of moving over there next year, and because i am french-armenian and speak 5 languages, i think it could be useful to have a listing of the companies i could send some CVs to.
I did not find anything useful for now so if anyone has a link that could help me out, i'll be very thankful.
Thankd everyone,
Daniel

Year of Armenia in France - Important Message to Numerous Armenian Community
of France
04.11.2005 21:36 GMT+04:00
/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The second sitting of the joint organization committee on
the Year of Armenia in France was held in Yerevan yesterday. Welcoming the
delegation led by Philippe Etienne, Director general for international
cooperation and development at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
chairman of the state coordinating commission for the conduction of the Year
of Armenia in France, Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan noted that according
to the agreement concluded between the President of Armenia and France, the
conduction of the Year of Armenia in France demonstrates the high level of
relations between the two states. In his opinion it will mark another stage
of the Armenian-French friendly relations, which successfully develop in
political, economic, cultural and other directions. The RA Premier stressed
that the Year of Armenia in France appears as a golden opportunity to
familiarize not only France but also entire Europe with the Armenian history
and cultural values. He also noted that the Year carries an important
message to the numerous Armenian community of France, which serves as a
bridge between the Armenian and French nations. Andranik Margaryan also
voiced hope that the sitting will be as fruitful and the previous one and
wished the committee every success in performing the mission.
In his turn, Philippe Etienne stressed that the Year of Armenia in France
with the slogan `Armenia, My Friend' is an exclusive opportunity for the
development of the ties and contacts. The French people show great interest
to the Armenian culture and civilization. Thanking for the warm welcome he
expressed hope that both parties will do their best to make the Year of
Armenia in France the brightest and impressing event in the history of the
friendly Armenian-French relationships.
The delegation members stressed that French President Jacques Chirac
attached great importance to the event and his presence in the committee is
the evidence of it. It was noted that the events will be organized both in
Armenia and France and the opening ceremony will take place in September
2006 in Yerevan. The parties said the events will be covered by media and
the best French salons and cultural institutions will be granted for their
conduction in over 40 towns. The third and fourth sittings of the committee
will be held in March 2006 in Paris and in May 2006 in Yerevan. Andranik
Margaryan thanked the French delegation for the activities and voiced
assurance that the agreements between the Armenian and French Presidents on
the conduction of the Year of France in Armenia will be made a reality.

By the way, a little off topic i suppose but..
I am fed up of hearing those stories that it is almost impossible for a "ardasahmantsi" (diaspora armenian) to open a buisness or anything in Armenia because of the Mafia not letting you. Is it really true? Is it that difficult?
Sad that Armenia has this image inside the diasporan mentality..

no, the rumour is BS. It takes some getting used to the culture and peoples way of thinking but I know at least of a couple large, succesful 'Avstralahye' owned businesses in Armenia:

Well, thanks a lot for the info
Actually, i didn't hesitate to ask directly the question in Armenia too. Ok no one denied the presence of the Mafia, but everyone told me: "If you don't mess with their job or their field, you have absolutely nothing to worry about".
But it makes me sad also to see that some ardasahmantsi don't even want to change their vision of Armenia. Not longer than yesterday night a friend told me "Even if you pay me i won't go to Armenia, the land of the mob..."
Sad sad..

Eloren, what about the french embassy in Armenia?? although it is not a company, but could be a start. i know for sure that in China the french embassy is more then happy to hire french citizens who speak chinese very well, and plus know other languages: u do speak armenian, don't u? of course, the french embassy in armenia might not be as big as the one in china, but they might still be interested, who knows???
Another option, just to start with, could be the french language alliance.
Another thing, although has nothing to do directly with "France & Armenia", but just to try for, is UNDP office, as u speak many languages.
Good luck!!! All the best!!!
