Some of you want to change the traditionnal Armenian tricolore to something new.

Georgia did it recently during the revoluation, so I'm sure there'd by no problem to change the flag in Armenia: too.

But is it a good idea? What do you propose, and why? Show your ideas by using an image-editing tool, by describing it, or in any other way you want. wink.gif

Georgia needed it - their black, brown and white color combination was hideous. Plus their new flag looks very EU-friendly, kind of like the English or Swiss flags.

I like both our flag and our coat of arms and think they should remain as they are.

What I always wanted to know is why the Armenian flag doesn't have a cross on it?

I like our Coat of Arms very much. The only thing it misses is a Crown in the middle.
The flag is different, I always found it hideous.

Yea but I think they didn't put a crown because Armenia isn't a Kingdom as are countries like Britain, Spain, Saudi Arabia, etc.

Is Georgia a Kingdom? How about Serbia or Bulgaria?
Anyway, our COA is pretty cool nonetheless.

Not a big fan of tricolor flags. Out of all those flags I like the Irish and Italian flags the most, I don't like our colors at all.

I'd love to see the symbol of eternity be integrated in the flag... by the way, i dont like our colors either... its also the columbian flag upside down.. we could be much more creative, no? ( as of colors, i love French flag the most )

I don't understand why everyone wants to change the Armenian flag, i mean everyone's entitled to their opinion, but i find the flag represents the tenacity and power of struggle of armenians, since it was established during our first independance, and shows how much the armenians are capable of holding on and come out of the ashes again, be reborn. Changing the flag would mean changing history, and we have established a well-known identity among non armenians with our flag, and everyone who sees it recognizes us. Do we really want to lose that and become more complicated for non armenians to understand and identify? The colors represent well the whole Armenian culture and history, of course adding the eternity sign in the middle or something wouldnt be a bad idea, but then again that sign is used by some other cultures too, so it wouldnt be unique. Perhaps put the COA in the middle? but even then, i rather keep the flag as is, cuz it has crossed almost a whole century and represents a whole century of Armenian history.

Cross?
Up your ...
Cross?
I’d rather have that “crooked cross”, the Swastika. It may cause more damage in the rectum.
Have we not have had that Cross up to here/there?
Have we not borne that cross long enough!
Remember the "cross" of 1915!!
Why are we designated the “cross bearers” of the world!!???
When was it the last time the holder on that trademark, the Pope, the eternal Crusader came to our rescue?
How about we place this symbol?
Uranium, rhymes with Urartian?

Our flag is certainly better than plenty of other flags, most notably the Azerbaijani flag.

The Armenian cross should be put on the Armenian flag, if the flag was to be changed. As Armenians the Armenian Apostolic Church is what has kept us Armenian over the Centuries and has kept us from assimilating into a bunch of Turks.

The way I see it no Armenian Apostolic church,no Armenians today. That is why the Armenian Churches Cross should be put on a flag that was to be changed,it would be a flag that we all can look at with great pride.

In my opinion there are a lot more other urgent issues that needs to be dealt with before the flag.
Democracy, corruption, poverty, unemployment, business confidense, better run institutions and so on.smile.gif

I agree with the cross idea it represents us well, and should be considered if there's a change, but i agree that there are more urgent issues
