MISSION STATEMENT

Policy Forum Armenia (PFA) is an independent professional non-profit association aimed at strengthening discourse on Armenia's economic development and national security and through that helping to shape public policy in Armenia. PFA has a hybrid mission, operating as a think tank as well as an advocacy group. Its main objective is to offer alternative views and professional analysis containing innovative and practical recommendations for public policy design and implementation. Through its activities, PFA aims to contribute to the creation of an informed public and more effective and accountable government. PFA's main asset is its worldwide network of professionals and leaders in their respective fields, with dedication to Armenia.

VISION

We strive to build Armenia as a country and society where:

Government is transparent and fully trusted by its subjects; Its main objective is the current and future well-being of citizens and nationals abroad; Its members are equally accountable before the law in the same manner as any other citizen of the country and have no direct commercial interests.

Judiciary is free, fair, and incorruptible.

Legislature is competent and respectable.

Civil service is the most respected form of employment, because it provides an opportunity to serve the country and people, and is highly professional.

Society has high standards of living; It is well educated, tolerant, and humane.

Economy is at the frontier of progress and innovation, building upon the human capital of the Nation as a whole; It offers equal opportunities for everyone; It does not tolerate unfair competition and redistributes through efficient and fair taxation.

Environment and responsible management of natural resources are essential to the survival of the State, and are key elements of well-being of future generations.

Human rights are the most sacred set of values.

Citizens of Armenia - Armenians, Yezidis, Greeks, Kurds, Russians, and others alike - are the most valuable asset of the State.

Armed Forces are by far the strongest in the region by spirit and dedication of its men and women, by its advanced armament, and by significance of its mission to protect life, history, and culture.

Diaspora and Armenia form a single entity, the Nation. Its stake in Armenia and Armenia’s development are recognized and encouraged; Its potential is fully internalized; Its members have dual Armenian citizenship.

History is of essence.

Future is where we aim.

I can easily subscribe to all of the above and would like to add two more points:

1) No decision that affects matters of sovergnity, (international accords) or matters of delegation of powers to foreign international bodies with respect to the national security, or any other such decisions could be taken by the Government or the Legislature, without prior public consent, affirmed trough the process of an open and democratic referendum.

2) Liberation of Western Armenia from European occupation and unification of all subdued Armenian territories through the means of International Law is the utmost goal of every Armenian and the Government of Republic of Armenia

PFA RESPONDS TO THE EVENTS IN ARMENIA

Are we to understand from your response that, the free for all disturbences were to be allowed to continue unabated?
It is easy to suggest from afar, that force should not be applied to obey the laws of a country...

The constitutional courts rejected the cases by LTP etal allegations, that elections were illegal, therefor should be voided!

I wonder what will the response of PFA will be NOW?

Dear Garmag, please be advised that Armine is the alter ego/mouthpiece of Vahe Avetian, both of them have been repeeatedly censored here, yet she seems to find a way to sneak in. Neither she or he have anything good to say. So, please do not respond to her.

Dear Arpa,

Expose them as often as possible so that they stay uncovered!

Vahe should find himslef another profession, like cleaning sewers. Become a trash collector, not a trash generator. Sweep the streets of Yerevan, Aparan and Kapan
Not unlike those so called nine presidential candidates in a country of less than 900,000, compared to two candidates in the country of US of over 300,000,000. Perhaps they also should find another profession like filling pot holes or cleaning the sewers, կոյուղի կղկղանքուղի.n so called candidates did was steal votes from the font runners. Just to see how many would vote for the ABC, CBS NBC, HoHoSha, hokaka, I don't know the acronyms of the other 70 so called political parties, or ARF or some other sh*teraf.
When will we have two or three candiadates whereby we may understand what their agenda, not cacophony is about?
Reminds me of the time when the mob was yelling "ketseh/long live" and the local drunk Ambakoum was yelling "anktsi/down with". When they asked him "anktsi who"? He said "anktsi khmaranapet Kitakos@, oghi-in jour e kharnoum". tongue.gif
Armine may have found te perfect kakanots mate. let them wallow in it.
Some day Vahe may become the president of Armenia. Make sure you have gas masks when visiting him in his office in the sewer.
