Ancient pavement unearthed in a church yard in Artsakh

A rectangular pavement on a large site was revealed during renovation works of the church yard in Stepanakert, the capital city of Artsakh republic. As Panoram.am learnt from the founder of tourism development agency Sergey Shahverdyan, the constructions works are now stopped to explore the site.

“It turned out to have been a paved square we have no knowledge of its practical usage. Further study will also spread light on the date of the site,” Shahverdyan said.
