Specialized Exhibition Of Alcoholic Beverages Opens In Yerevan

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)—The first republican specialized exhibition "Yerevan Fair of wine,
brandy, vodka and beer - 2000" opened at the Yerevan Expocenter yesterday. Although the 17
enterprises participating in the exhibition do not fully represent the sphere, they testify to the progress
in the production of hard and soft drinks in Armenia. According to Minister of Agriculture Zaven
Gevorgian, the number of enterprises engaged in this sphere have increased during the last few years.
Progress is apparent, and in the near future this vector will go up.

The exhibition participants believe that the exhibition will reveal the best producers and enable them
to establish business relations as well as order the domestic and foreign market of these products.

Tasting courses are organized as part of the exhibition after which the samples will be stored.
Tomorrow, workshops will be held on technology improvement, production, and licensing of
alcoholic beverages The results of the tasting contest will be summarized in the conclusion of the
exhibition. The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, "Center of Agribusiness
Development" SCJSC, "Scientific Center of Viticulture and Wine-Making", and the Yerevan
Expocenter and will last until this Saturday.
