A request was made that he perform that night and he obliged. :) It's for all the uncoupled people who don't go out on V-Day. :) Almost an anti- V-Day gathering. :) I was present at his last event at the same location. It was lovely. :)

De inq@, ir guitarr@, ir tesaket@.......karrcum em vor shat hnaravora.......du gides.......

When Armenchik is selling out the Nokia Theatre and Hamalirr and Tata (not being a "wedding singer") has become so commercialized that you cannot differentiate one album of his from another, I think he has some (read lots) of leeway to demand that his people raise their collective taste in music. Maybe it isn't fitting that he toot his own horn, but I agree with the overall statement he made.

that's not the point...

the point is that a "real" artist promotes his work for what it is, not for what it is not... or by putting others' work down... but his attitute was more of a jelousy than anything else.... (as you said, because armenchik sells out nokia, and he can't even fill out a 20x20 room...)

not that i care about rabiz, etc... to me, that kind of attitude is very discouraging...

A Splinter and Gor Mkhitarian - Concert in Armenian
April 2nd and 3rd at 8:00 PM Reception with wine and cheese at 7:00 PM

Grove Theater Center

1111b W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA 91506

Tickets: $ 20

www.asplinter.com

818-795-1748, 818-515-8254

You can watch their video clip on YouTube:

A Splinter is an Armenian language alternative/folk band. The songs are based on real-life experiences and cover a wide range of topics from romance to war. They are written as stories which splinter off from the norm, dancing about in warm breeze or lodging under your skin in a storm, making you deal with often ignored realities. In addition, some of the stories are presented with a good deal of humor, reminding you to laugh at everything, even at your very own death.

The band includes Ashot Tadevosian (vocals, guitar), Harut Hovsepyan (guitar, vocals), Byuzand Azizyan (djembe, vocals), Lyudmila Grigoryan (vocals), Armen Kvryan (duduk).

Dear Nane, with all due respects. We love you. Please tell us that some Armenians will actually pay their last luma to listen to such Gor-Zhkhor/Ժխոր/noise
Please tell us when the guitar became an Armenian instrument?
Unless we mean this, (gui) TAR
