I live in a country
Where 7 people out of 10 say that God exists.
Where in public transport people give up their seats to women and the elderly.
Where men work to support their family, not just to feed themselves.
Where 90% of the nation is hospitable.
Where people give up their turn in queues to pregnant women and moms with kids.
Where people think of marrying and creating a family from childhood and teenage years.
Where people are indulgent and forgiving.
Where children are loved and protected.
Where the young respect the elderly.
Where happy events are shared and celebrated with the whole nation and family.
Where weddings host 100-400 guests.
Where roads are blocked without permission during weddings for the car carrying the bride to pass.
Where no marriage ceremony takes place without the blessing of church.
Where, in case of misfortune, all the friends and relatives of a person stand by his/her side.
Where the relatives of a person that was in a car accident, spend the night outside the hospital.
Where people stay friends/relatives till the end of their lives.
Where songs and poetry are kind and deep thoughts, rather than curse words and blasphemy.
Where people weigh their actions carefully.
Where the Prime Minister, the President and the government say Christ is Risen! boldly on TV.
Where family values come first.
Where boys always pay for girls.
Where art, wisdom and humor are born every day.
Where people live on a highland and the only lowland is the Ararat Valley from which the biblical mountain Ararat smiles to us every day.
A place where even revolution is accompanied with dancing, singing and barbecue.
Where people call each other brother and sister.
Where, despite the economic and everyday problems, people dress nice and carry themselves with dignity.
Where everyone gives you advice and teaches something. Even if you are 80, there will be someone to teach you and give you advice.
Where night is like day and you can even see parents going to a café to have ice cream with their children at 1 oclock in the morning.
Where both the sunrise and the sunset are special.
Where neighbors gather every day to have coffee together.
Where the morning is the most pleasurable.
Where the bread and the water are the tastiest (for me it is 100% so).
Where tasty food and conversations are born.
Yes, its my country and my city.
My Armenia and my Yerevan.
I would not like to someday see European coldness in my Armenia, when everyone would live for themselves. I would not like to someday see the absence of all this.
No, it would not be my Armenia. It would not be my wonderful country.
May God bless and keep my wonderful Armenia.
