I will separate my comments and the main article in Armenian to avoid a collision of the Latin and the Armenian. To follow.
Let me see if I can wake our cyber-whizzes like Azat, Harut and Sip, to not forget our fearless Commander in Chief, Garo. See their opinions and expertise.
We have had 101 fights here, all the way from Faith Fights, Food Fights and everything in between.
It may now be time for a FONT FIGHT.
The sorry state of Armenian Fonts. All the wat from Asc II, Arial AM, NLS, Unicode, HTML and 8 million others in between. Have we had ENOUGH ALREADY?
For a nation of less than 8 million we have upwards of 80 million so called Armenian Fonts none of which are compatible with one another or any other medium.
Below an excerpt from Azdak Daily where Lucy Maria Momjian says.
Poor Lucy. She may not know that we already have 8 million Fonts and Farcical Formats.
“I wish to create a new, beautiful and (Armeno)particular fonts.”
Let us survey this from Azdak Daily;
“I wish to learn typography so I can create and stylize new Armenian fonts and place them on the computer.
We know that there are thousands of fonts of the English (yet they are all legible and transferable), in the case of Armenian they are few and unattractive. “
Her wish is also to create more attractive and artistic fonts, i.e Calligraphy..
Curious enough that this whole article wa prompted when Lucy was entrusted with the design and fonts of the periodical organ of the MHM-Marashi Hayrenaktsakan Miutiun.
Momjian is a well known family name in Marashtsi society. The GERMANIK/Kermanig.**
As long as we are talking about fonts, calligraphy and artistic texts, see how many before have tried to beautify it ;
Hi Ruben Malayan, aka !5 Levels. Where are you? Are you still in telaviv or are you in Yerevan?
At the time I did not question Ruben why he had chosen to include the YEV as a letter of the Alphabet, without which he/we would have so much more space to expand otherwise.
Is Ms. Lucy reserving a space for YEV?
We also remember when Nairri was looking for a source of Technagir..
The above site has expired. See this;
Eerie that the above site spells NAYIRI.
**See why Marash is also known as Germanic/Germanica/Kermanig. See # 16 here.
PS. As promised, I will next air the entire text in Armenian.
