IRAN TO MAKE INVESTMENTS IN ARMENIA AND GEORGIA
Currently the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are considering a program of investments into the economies of Armenia and Georgia, about one billion dollars each, says "Nezavisimaya Gazeta" newspaper, Russia. Russian investments in Armenia and Georgia for 2006 hardly exceeded 1,5 billion and 30 million, respectively.
IRNA news agency and Georgian mass media quoted the statement of the Georgian Ambassador to Iran Levan Asatiani that the two sides are considering a project of improvement of the transportation system. Naturally, Georgia is interested in participating in the $70 million market of Iran.
Washington is aware of the projects of Iran, but yet spares its "partner" Georgia and condemns Armenia. Temporary Charge d'affaires of USA Embassy in Armenia, Antony Godfrey is dissatisfied with the extension of Armenian-Iranian partnership. In an interview to Reuters agency he reminded that UN has adopted two resolutions on reduction of investments and transactions in Iran.
In return Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vardan Oskanian told the reporters, "Armenia’s relations with all the foreign states are transparent enough, and there is nothing dubitable in them".

shouldn't the US stop the anti-Iran rhetoric and start investing in Armenian economy if they r so much worried of the ties that we might have in the future with Iran?
