In the Armenian national final it was decided that Hayko will represent the country in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Anytime you need. Both the televoters and the jury wanted the singer to be the second Armenian representative in the contest, www.eurovision.am reports. Hayko is a popular singer in Armenia. He has not only won several music festivals but he was also awarded 'best singer' in 2003 and 2006. In 2006 contest first-timer Andre representing Armenia with a song Without your love was the 8th, thus paving the way for Hayko directly to the 2007 final to take place in Helsinki May 12.

music and lyrics by Hayko/ Karen Kavaleryan
Why, baby tell me why
Does someone always say goodbye?
You should never doubt / all I'll ever do
Is watch over you
I only wanna guard
Every beat of your gentle heart
Look and you will see
You can count on me, depend on me
Anytime you need,
Any place you say,
Anything indeed,
Anyhow, any way...
I wanna be your friend
Day by day to the very end
If you ever call crying with the blues
I'm here for you
Anytime you need,
Any place you say,
Anything indeed,
Anyhow, any way...
I'll dry your tears when you cry
And I need no reason why
Anytime you need,
Any place you say,
Anything indeed,
Anyhow, any way...
Anytime you need...

so whatever happened to those critics who was blaming Andre for luck of Arminianism in his song ?? which in my opinion was complete nonsense
those Haykos song have even a Hint of Armenian in it ???

yes Mosjan, that was the point I kept making all along on this forum, and ppl got annoyed, its because us armenians have a tendency to criticize music that sounds turkish or arabic saying its not armenian, whereas we dont realize tthat most of the music we hear from armenia today is the same style as hayko and has ABSOLUTELY nothing armenian about them, doesnt mean theyre bad, but we gotta be fair n square for both sides...
as for the song, its a good song, but not a eurovision song....and it lacks alot of originality...but hayko is an overall good performer, he wont let us down performance wise...did u see the number of music schools he graduated from?
