Verrry Interresting. Please tell us about that “hetaqrqir ughi”.
Please survey the below map and see that a direct linez between Yerevan and Stepanakert is about 200 km. By American standards that would be about 120 miles. By those standards. At 60 mph it would be a 2 hour drive. OK. 3 hours.

We are happy that the Stepanakert airport is almost ready that will reduce the Y-S flight time to under ½ hour. However it will deprive the average traveler/driver passing through many of those towns and villages, and miss many interesting side attractions.
Not to mention that it will bypass many important locations in the Syunik region, like Sisian, Goris, Tatev and others.
About a decade ago Arsen, a fine young man drove us from Y to S through Sisian, Goris and Berdzor. At the time the highway was in such bad shape, most of the way there was no asphalt left and it was pocked with potholes bigger than the Grand Canyon, except for that freshly constructed highway from Berdzor and on. It took us better than 20 hours, with, of course mandatory stops.
On the way back Arsen, as gracious as he is (we compensated him generously) showed us Satani Kamourj and Tatev, which at the time was a virtual pile of rocks. He also took us to Jermuk, a highlight in its own right.
To not say that if there were a direct highway between Y and S one could not stop and visit those wonderful places like Jermuk, Tatev, Goris, Berdzor and Shushi.
Once again, dear Aratta, please tell us about that “hetaqrqir ughi”.

ԱԽ՜ ՏԱՄYou are welcome dear Arpa. 1. FORGET THE AMERICAN STANDARDS. 2. There is so much you can see on your way from Yerevan to Stepanakert---i wouldn't even know where to start. Just to mention [only] in Yegheknadzor you can....

You’re doing an excellent work. Thank you again.
Did you take pictures of what was once known as “aghdam”?
We seem to forget that there is no place with name anymore. It is known as AKNA;

Can we please stop using furkish names for Armenian towns and villages, PLEASE!!??
Some day we will tackle with “Alaverdi”
