Stepan Safaryan, who is running for Parliament on the ticket of the Free Democrats party, expects surprises during the upcoming election campaign

“I do not want to open the brackets, but we this time the campaign will be very different. You will see new things which have not been used by political forces until now,” says Mr Safaryan.

He claims that they are offering an alternative policy. “I do not want to be engaged in anti-propaganda, but most of the forces participating in the previous elections were not against the policy that led to the April war in Karabakh. That policy did not increase out security; rather, we have lost our power, gaining nothing in return.”

Sixty percent of Free Democrat’s ticket are young people who are known for their active role in various civic initiatives.

The party considers the Republican Party of Armenia its biggest rival in the April 2 elections. The primary objective of the party is to achieve regime change in Armenia.
