ԹՈՆԻՐ
Tandur/tand@r

In another thread we were talking about
Cheese Bread Banderoom Hootz

Where I said, the addition of letter D Banir/Panir is like when we add the letter D to Սանր/Sandr/comb, and Ծանր/dzandr /heavy.
This brings us to ԹՈՆԻՐ/Tonir.
Contrary to my assumption that it is from the Sanskrit/Indian, according to the Armatakan it is of Assyrian origin, from which many have adopted. Armenian, Persian, all the way to East and West , even way to France and Spain via the Arabic Al-thanor.. My assumption was based on the fact, at an Indian restaurant the most common word is tandur/tanduri/tandoori **
