Speaking of approaching (Sip and Nairi ), how do you approach a shy guy? I mean, not terribly, loser shy but not like some studs out there, either, who get the idea immediately. So I don't know how to not scare him but I also want some progress soon. I conferred with a male friend and he agrees that this one needs consideration and being taken slowly but he wasn't able to help me beyond the simple idea of inviting him for tea, which didn't work because he's almost always in a rush nowadays - he politely turned me down - beyond that, male friend said, he couldn't help, especially since he got tired of doing me favours whereby all I did in return was get him a beer. So anyway? Any experience to share?

I haven't yet met a straight guy that would reject a girl if she has the looks no matter how shy he is. He may struggle to find the right approach to you but if you are confident in yourself no need to worry. If he really is extremely shy, you may wish to invite him, or through a friend at a place with other people so that he could feel relaxed and more open to conversation.

The rest are technicalities that I don't feel the need to teach you!

Also, I never approach guys. If I'm interested, I'll let him approach me. From that perspective I'm still the old traditional: let the man make the first move, but only if I let him! So the power is still in my hands! And that's the way it should be

Well, no, not extremely shy. In fact, I hope we (both my male friend and I) are wrong in the shy assessment. There just MIGHT be potential for non-shyness.
