How important is it to call your in-laws mom and dad? Some say it's very important and it's a sign of respect.

I never called them mom and dad, never will because they are not my parents period. As far as respect goes, there are plenty of ways to show respect, but of course not to forget that respect is a two way street one without the other, it never works.

As to the third generation, they are free to call me anything they can in their newly learned language, like dada, papa***, gramp or even "hey you".
As long as it it is with love and respect. Remember we are all friends, khnamy-s whether 20 or 100 year old. It does not have to be a "family feud"

BTW. Dear Extra address them by their first names, no disrespect, only in friendship.Just as in-laws are supposed to be friends. Not SarGSYAns v SarKISIAns. Not McCoys and Hatfields** or Capulets and Montagues (Romeo and Juliet)
