I I M
The three Forbidden Words.
Hi, George Carlin :P . RIP!
Like Popeye will say- “I yam what I yam, I yam the Popeye Man”!
Among many, the three words that are subject to revision here are- “Idiot, Imbecile and Moron” .
Now, let us see what they mean.

Main Entry: id·i·ot
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French ydiote, from Latin idiota ignorant person, from Greek idiōtēs one in a private station, layman, ignorant person, from idios one's own, private; akin to Latin suus one's own — more at suicide

-----
One dictionary defines it as
Idiot=-Հիմար,
Idiotic=Ապուշային, ապուշի
--

Main Entry: im·be·cile
Etymology: French imbécile, noun, from adjective, weak, weak-minded, from Latin imbecillus
Date: 1802
1 usually offensive : a person affected with moderate

---
Imbecile=Տկարամիտ, թուլամիտ, խելապակաս, ապուշ, հիմար, տխմար,անխելք
---

Main Entry: mo·ron
Etymology: irregular from Greek mōros foolish, stupid
Date: 1910
1 usually offensive : a person affected with mild mental retardation
2 : a very stupid person

--
One dictionary is silent, another has-
Moron=Բթամիտ, տկարամիտ.
This brings to mind Տ-խեղծ that one dictionary defines as “deformed, ugly, malformed”. Does not that sound like it is based on the negative prefix Տ/T, Տ- խելք (L=GH/Ղ) without brain? Also not to forget “տ-խմար”
Before we get to the etymology/armatakan of each, let us rememeber that the “Տ/T” prefix is a negative expression as in “գեղ/gegh= beauty and տ-գեղ/t-gegh” means “without(beauty/ugly)”.
Ps. Ah! :oops: I forgot “cretin”.:

Etymology: French crétin, from French dial. cretin, literally, wretch, innocent victim, from Latin christianus Christian
Date: 1779
1 often offensive : one afflicted with cretinism
2 : a stupid, vulgar, or insensitive person

:
** Does it sound like “Chrétien/Christian/Քրիստոնեայ”?
