The First time I heard that piece of art, I told to myself, was it possible that the Armenian language is so beautifull ? That poem, from what I know and have read, is what the Armenian language has produced as best... The intonations the rythm... it's perfect... and what is ironic is that the best poem(in my opinion) is against God.

I think the best one is the one about the "napastak" sitting under a tree. I just love that one

Bedros Tourian is the author of this masterpiece... I will scan this untouchable work.
If anyone is able to translate this work in Franch or English he worth the Nobel Prize of Litherature.
If he would have been and English, German or French... he would be considered one of th best poets in the world. That poem in everything that I have read in any language that I know far suprasses everything... In art there is no perfection but in my opnion that one is the nearer of this perfection.

i don't know which one is the best, but Sevak's "Menq qich enq,..." has become the most popular Armenian poem.

every time we talk about literature or poetry i remember my parent's library. back in Armenia they had a personal library of about 500-700 books. they are still in our home in Armenia, but they just pile a dust on them.
i wish they were here.....

Yes it is Petros Dourian
Petros Dourian, despite his estremely short life (1851-1872) has produced some of the most powerful and at other times the most tender pieces of poetry.
The Trtounjq (Protestations) seems to be one of his most memorable specially among the young perhaps because he dares to challenge God and speaks of heavenly injustice for taking his life so early, it was written in 1871, the year before his death when one day he was convinced that he was dying. The next day he wrote Zghjoum (Penitence/Repentence). Trtounjq is too long. It (and more) can be found at the following site. Perhaps some "geek" ( I am not) can find the way to paste it here.

Just so more poetically taslented ones would take courage too.

(The day after)
