Armenian youth from the music school of Talin, Armenia, caroling with none-Armenian Americans
Talin is a very poor town but they are high in spirit, specially this holiday season

Very good Man, thank you.
But do those children in Talin knos any traditional Atmenian Christmas Carols like these?
Or are we now a Jingle Bells generation?

Now now Dear Arpa - let's not be so sarcastic here - let me guess you prefer the first logo...

Personally I would like my kids to sing tonatsar jan tonatsar - then come home and sing one of those two songs you posted... :1achq:

by the way let me ask you did you watch the video?

Yes I did watch the video until my stomach turned on me. I forgot to add that those Sharagans- Armenian Carols- , are virtually impossible to sing not only by children but also by adults. Have we composed any so called Armenian carols since Khorenatsi, that is beside Tonatsar?
BTW. I have nothing against Home@tmen. In fact I admire them, I have for a long time.

Arpa - the questions was not Homenetmen, it was the style of the logo - difference between them... forget the logos... the question here is the kids nor the elder would want to sing church songs during a christmas evening celebration either at home or anywhere else... You are right we do need new songs - something that will touch the hearts of everyone, something that will beat the traditional - American christmas song - "jingle mingle belss"

Come to think of it :bighug:

If we bring the world to Armenia, then Armenians of Armenia will not look forward to immigrate in order to know the world.
They will stay put in Armenia giving her their energies.

Besides human contact, internet is opening the doors of the world to Armenians in Armenia.

It is a fact that Armenians have their own particular carols, but it will not hurt to switching sometimes to international carols or caroling American/European style; it keeps the bordem and repetiton at bay, and the return to Armenian caroling in refreshed mood more certain.

Come to think of it!

Who said that that silly jingo Jingle Bells is a Christmas carol?
Where do you see words like Christ, Christmas or Jesus?
We need real American Christian culture not silly vulgar songs. Look again and see in Yerevan they think Rap and bottom girating Michael Jackson are American culture.
====

Lyrics to Jingle Bells :

Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bob tails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight

Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh

A day or two ago
I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fanny Bright
Was seated by my side
The horse was lean and lank
Misfortune seemed his lot
We got into a drifted bank
And then we got upsot

Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh yeah

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh
