In 1989, artists from Pink Floyd, Queen, Rush, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Yes, Iron Maiden and others joined forces to raise funds for people affected by the Armenian earthquake. Kerrang called it "the greatest array of hard rock talent every assembled".

Organised by Jon Dee, the remake featured David Gilmour, Brian May, Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Alex Lifeson and Chris Squire on guitars. On vocals it had Ian Gillan, Bruce Dickinson, Paul Rogers and Bryan Adams. Keith Emerson and Geoff Downes played the keyboards and Roger Taylor played the drums.

This is the official promo video for the 2010 Wermut & Dee remix of the track. It's been released worldwide to raise funds to rebuild a children's music school in Gyumri in the Armenian earthquake zone. Please tell your friends on Facebook and Twitter about this video.

A 40 minute 'Making Of' DVD/CD is available for purchase via EDEL at the following online stores:
Amazon UK: http://tinyurl.com/3djd5p8
Amazon USA: http://tinyurl.com/4x35cuw

For more information, visit http://www.RockAidArmenia.com

Please enjoy this video but do pay to buy the track and video - this will help us to raise enough funds to rebuild the Gyumri music school in the Armenian earthquake zone. 20 years after the earthquake, this children's music school has still not been rebuilt. I hope you enjoy it!

ARMENIAN FANS SAY GOODBYE TO JON LORD

NEWS.AM
July 18, 2012 | 17:31

YEREVAN. - The Armenian fans said goodbye to Jon Lord, the legendary
keyboard player with heavy rock band Deep Purple, on Wednesday. The
fans posted Lord's photos on the British Embassy walls in Yerevan,
lit candles and put flowers as well.

Jon Lord died at the age of 72 in London on Monday, surrounded by
family and friends. He suffered from pancreatic cancer.

After the Deep Purple collapsed in 1976, he started to play in
Whitesnake and cooperated with George Harrison, Graham Bonnet and
David Gilmour. After the Deep Purple reunited, Lord returned to the
band and worked till 2002.

Our generation lived with this music. For us it was more than music. It was lifestyle and it made us a little bit of everything. A little bit of intellectuals, a little bit of rebels, a little bit of freedom loving and creativity cherishing people. And by being a little bit of everything we were kind of complete. The good news is that our generation wont enjoy medical services provided by medical personnel who got their degrees on-line.
