The Armenian Apostolic Church (Armenian: Հայաստանեայց Առաքելական Եկեղեցի, Hayasdaneaytz Arakelagan Yegeghetzi) is the world's oldest national church^{http://en.wikipedia....rch#cite_note-0http://en.wikipedia....rch#cite_note-1} and one of the most ancient Christian communities.^[3]

The official name of the church is the One Holy Universal Apostolic Orthodox Armenian Church ^[4]. It is sometimes referred to as the Armenian Apostolic Church or the Gregorian Church, however the latter name is not preferred by the church, as it views the Apostles Bartholomew and Thaddeus as the founders, and St. Gregory the Illuminator as merely the first official head of the church.

Sireli MosJan, in case you didn't know, the Catholic Church of the Vatican also calls itself the Apostolic Church, based on the fact that it was founded by the Apostle Peter the Rock, whose original name was Shimon until Jesus renamed him Peter, the Rock.
Why is it that, if the Armenian Apostolic Church is named for the Apostles Thaddeus/Թատդէոս and Bartholomew/Բարտողոմէոս we don't have churches in their names? Instead of St. Grigor, St. Sargis, St. Hakob, St. Karapet , Ste.Gayaneh and Ste. Hripsmeh?
When is the last time you an Armenian church named Սուրբ Թատդէոս կամ Սուրբ Բարթողոմէոս?
