My answer is "loving". Sorry can't answer "why", that's probably personal preference, its just the way people can be. There are selfish people out there who need to be loved and pleased all the time but don't feel they have to reciprocate, again could be a personal choice.

Thanks Sasun jan...
I agree with you, but some people don't like to be loved. I was talking to my friend about relationships last night. She stated how much it turned her off when a guy fell in love with her. That she always broke off the relationshiop as soon as the guy showed her some attantion. Now my question is, how rewarding could loving someone be if they're going to end up leaving you.

But how would you feel if the feeling wasn't mutual?

And loving is a fabulous gift given to us...but if that person doesnt' love us back, that no fun either....
Tough question....
Can't you ask easier questions to make life easier on us???
Ok I decided we should love and be loved ,how's that???

Nature Boy
(eden ahbez)
There was a boy...
A very strange enchanted boy.
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea
A little shy and sad of eye
But very wise was he.
And then one day,
One magic day he passed my way.
And while we spoke of many things ,
Fools and kings,
This he said to me,
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return."
~interlude~
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return."

Yeah Sev Marde...I can fully agree here as well...but unfourtunatly it can only go for so long...and once one realises they love isn't returned..well...then in some was nothing can be worse...

Well that's why i have the "Don't really love them till they love you" clause in my "Relationship Contract". Everybody should have one. j/k

love: A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
Sounds to me like the keywords come at the end ... a sense of underlying oneness. If there is no real underlying oneness, in other words, if the love is one directional (either loving or being loved) then there can't be much emotional rewards. For "loving" to be emotionally rewarding, I think it has to be bi-directional. The loving and the being loved have to both be there ... otherwise things won't be right and there won't be that many rewards.
... so I'll have to agree with the others who have pretty much said the same thing here.

I totally understand this position, but potentially for different reasons. I'm a very possessive person and fear abandonment the most. When I find out a guy (that I like) likes me, I'll do anything, often unconsciously or subconsciouly, to turn him off. It's my self-defense against getting hurt and hurting. That's why I'll probably never be able to start a serious relationship again...

Whoa...you sound tougher and more cynical than I do!?
I got done dirty, what's your excuse?

I'm not so though or cynical Sev-Mard jan... It's just how I feel about love. This goes for both males and females. Love is something that takes time.
I've never experiance love... But seen how hard it was for my friends who had broken hearts from difficult brake ups.
