What is your own definition of romance? Are you attracted to romantic people, and if so, why? or why not? What do you think is the reason our society (western, or American) places such a great emphasis on romance in relationships and in marriage? Describe a romantic moment or a romantic evening you either have had or would like to have (lol, nothing raunchy, please). What comes to mind when you think "romance"? Do you think some people are romantic by nature? Is it something that can be cultivated?

Answer any or all questions; be creative

Queen of Hearts
(sulamik, a new one, just for you, lol; this used to be an old screen name of mine)

I think Berj's confusion is well warranted. Dragon, the link was unnecessary. Please try to post material relevant to the topic.

Something out of limits. It's deffinitely not a dinner with wine and 2 candles in restaurant or at home, or shower/bath with lots of candles. To put it short, NO CANDLES

I'm not attracted to romantic girls, because I'm romantic miself, and if the girl a have a relationship with is also romatic it becomes a very dangerous drama. Romantic boys are not my business

As much as I see it doesn't. (Am I on the hook Gaya?)

For me romance is an athmosphere, a spiritual athmosphere. Because of this it's too personal to describe it to anyone.

Meddieval knights Usually I don't think about it. It happens on the spot, suddenly. And one must cut it short because...it's dangerous.

Yes.

No.

Gayan jan, looks like you really want answers to your questions.
since no one is willing to reintroduce the topic, i think i will.
romance is pretty hard to define. basically, i agree with berj, romance is not about dinner and candles, it's much deeper than that.
why is romance so sought after in our society? well, everyday life is just too damn routine. we need some spontaneity in our lives, and romance provides this.
you wanted us to share our romantic experiences, but what is romantic to me may seem silly to you. and besides, what's romantic is also intimate, and if we share it w/ the public it may not be so romantic anymore, lol.

Just from a male slant on the subject.I think to much validity in a relationship is placed on romance. What about love, being devoted and supportive of your chosen companion.Being selfless and considerate and constantly nurturing to your relationship.Romance is the prelude to love, It is what makes or breaks a relationship. It seems once a bond is formed the romance is put to the side. Then the reality sets in,sometimes good and other times not so good. Its romances that clouds ones eyes and does not let you see what you are really getting into.It is better to love with your mind than your heart. You then are able to except what you have chosen for your self.
