Now you tell me I'm the best, I told you not to take that assistant, masistant job from Movses and look what's happening. gossip.gif

I really don't care about the gossip. I've always wanted to know if this was just a hayastanee thing are parskahyes and berutsees are just as old fashioned.

Leave Beirutsee's alone, and bash the rest. tongue.gif
This is not a place issue, it's more like a "Hin kloukh" issue. Traditions like that are observed by people who are still in the dark ages, you can find these people everywhere who stick out like a sour thumb. smile.gif

I think this is a good tradition and should be kept in Armenia, however, I also belive that the men should stay virgin until they are married if they expect their wife to be. Nonetheless, if this tradition dies because of western influence, STDs will increase, divorces will increase and how I would say this in English I don't know, but - Khujhananots kdarna Hayastan@.

I did not mention diaspora becuase many are not aware of the tradition, if they are, many disreguard it. Furthermore it is much harder to keep that tradition in such a society as the United States. This society is inundated with sex, sex, sex. Everything you watch on TV is all about sex. And then you have morons like "Dr." Phil giving people advice, telling them to be gay, or telling them that her and her boyfriend should start new sexual techniques or whatever crap stuff they give. This makes them think that is right, that is the way it should be. My primary worry is that Armenia will lose it.

Please correct me Harut
Above it is inferred that boys and girls in Armenia should guard their virginity while we here in the Diaspora can spread our seeds and ova wide and far.

"I think this is a good tradition and should be kept in Armenia, however, I also believe..."

Okay, I see why everyone is confused, what I wrote can be interpreted as ONLY kept in Armenia. I do not mean ONLY kept in Armenia, what I meant is the tradition should at least be preserved in Armenia if it can not be preserved within the diaspora.

The reason I say this is because I don't think there is any hope for the diaspora, it's too late, lots of their mindsets have already changed or have been only taught by peers and media to get laid. If I say to any of my Armenian friends in Los Angeles, that includes cousins from my dad's side in Los Angeles, they will simply laugh at me.

I think it would be very nice if the diaspora could also preserve it, but I don't think it's possible.
