ANALYZING BLUNDERS

We are good at exposing and analyzing the blunders of odars,
but when it comes to our own,
we prefer to lament.
We confuse the study of history with counting victims
and documenting atrocities.
Our historians appear never to have heard Krikor Zohrab’s dictum:
"The worst blunder we can commit is
dealing with our blunders with lamentation."
No, we must make sense of our past,
which means establishing regularities,
patterns, laws, traps to avoid, opportunities to seize,
defects to correct, and blind spots to illuminate.
A typical blind spot:
our dependence on verbal commitments and rhetoric.
It seems we have not yet learned that
odar diplomats and politicians will say anything
but do only that which is clearly to their advantage.
It is useless to appeal to their humanity
or reason or sense of justice or fair play.
Consider the genocide issue:
first they provoke it,
and now they tell us it is a figment of our imagination.
Some day they may change their minds,
and if they do, it will not be because of the evidence we present
but as a result of shifting interests and alliances.
I therefore say to all our organizations
that are in the business of "shoah business":
Stop wasting your time, money, and energy.
There are two other genocides going on right now:
exodus from the Homeland
and assimilation in the Diaspora.
If you want to serve the interests of the nation,
provide jobs for the unemployed in Armenia
and promote a less divisive environment in the Diaspora.
As for the dead: let them bury their dead.
This is what our religion teaches us.
This is what history dictates.
This is what common decency demands.

Exactly.
I want to have your personal opinion about the genocides you pointed.These are very sensitive issues in our daily life, but who is caring about them...
Even both Catholicoses seem not concern... more further than written statements...they are on the other side of their ''love''... for people, homeland, unity...bla...bla... bla...

Poor and non-educated armenians
are growing in number
everywhere in the world...
