This picture was taken at Vardenis, a small town at southern tip of Lake Sevan, Armenia, this past Easter of 2013 by a PCV. The caption reads: This candle-lighting place was a pit, which I walked around 7 times at Easter, to make my wish come true.
Now below are the ruins of a similar structure some 10,000 years, or 12,000 years, ago in Western Armenia, near Urfa that has been unearhed in the past few years...
