In case of further escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh, OSCE is ready to convene a special session, the organization’s Secretary-General Lamberto Zannier said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Zannier recalled that OSCE held a special session on April 4.
“The Permanent Council meets weekly and discusses all issues. Yesterday, the Permanent Council discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. This issue will also be discussed next week,” said the secretary general.
Zannier stressed that a new special meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council with the participation of the Minsk Group co-chairs will take place after the completion of the co-chairs’ visit to the region.
“Of course, if the situation deteriorates in Nagorno-Karabakh, we are ready to hold a special session. However, nothing is planned unless the co-chairs return from the region,” he said.

PS: The gravest mistake the Armenian leadership can make is to continue the negotiations with the current leadership of Azerbaijan. In light of the recent words of Medvedchik in Baku, that Armenia and Azerbaijan are equally important to Russia, that is to say that war criminal or not we like you. Hopefully, this will bring some quick sobering about the role Russia plays and as the saying goes " With friends like this who needs enemies".
