And the comedy goes on. The sad part is that some may think it to be funny. biggrin.gif tongue.gif
This was recently aired in response to the following story.
QUOTE
THE SO-CALLED 'GENOCIDE OF MOUNTAIN JEWS' ALLEGEDLY COMMITTED BY ARMENIANS IS FICTION
AZG Armenian Daily
07/10/2008
National Interests
Despite the negative lessons of cultivating enmity around the South
Ossetian and Abkhazian conflicts and deliberations about Turkey's
Platform of Stability and Security, the Azerbaijani special propaganda
continues poisoning the public conscience with misinformation",
Head of the Institute of National Strategic Studies of the Armenian
Defense Ministry, Major-General, Doctor of Political Sciences Hayk
Kotanjian said when commenting allegations in Azeri mass media that
the Knesseth has made decision to investigate the "genocide" against
Mountain Jews in the north of present Azerbaijan at the beginning of
the 20th century perpetrated by Armenians.

According to Kotanjian, the so-called "genocide against Mountain
Jews" is pure fiction imposed on the public conscience of Israel and
Jewish Diaspora by Azeri special propagandists and their foreign
partners. "These actions aim to undermine the friendship between
Jewish and Armenian peoples having very much in common in their
centuries-old history. Besides the gift to support their century-old
cultural and historical identity and develop the intellectual potential
of hundreds of generations, our people are united by the disastrous
hardship of Genocide and Holocaust, as well as by the experience of
heroic surviving and rebirth of statehood as the Republic of Armenia
and the State of Israel", he said.

One thing is clear: the falsifiers' fuss is immoral, actually, it is
sneering at the memory of Armenians exterminated by gangs of Caucasian
Tatars in places of century-old friendly co-existence of Armenians
and Mountain Jews. Experts of invention of "genocide" are trying to
pass off the remains of these Armenians, victims of the massacre, as
the remains of Jews allegedly killed by Armenians. The matter concerns
the crimes of the gangs which at that time exterminated in the north
of Azerbaijan several thousands of Russian officers and soldiers who
were returning home from the Caucasian frontline, Kotanjian said.

The following story was recently re posted by some baboonistani, which turns out to be not so recent. Note that that clown had aired this story in April of 2006, three days before April 24.
Observe that the accusation is that Armenians massacred 3000 “mountain jews” (whoever the hell they may be. Are they the jews of mount Sinai?). Of course, they had to use the magical number 3 thousand in line with the assertion of those other clowns that claim Armenians massacred 3 million furks and other muslims. Is the figure 3 million a poker ante like- I see your 1.5 million and I double it.
Armenians massacred 3000 jews a thousand miles away from Yerevan when they did not have even a kitchen knife to protect their own homeland?
And now, it is te azerboobs turn to lick jewish arse. Better them than us. We tried it for many decades and all we got is gaga. It is their turn now. Are they providing oil and gas at a wholesale price? jews will not buy anything above the wholesale price. Does anyone know the old jewish adage- “I can it at the wholesale (basement) price”?
OH! HOW I WOULD LOVE TO LAUGH

Today.Az » Politics » Rovshan Mustafayev: "More than 3000 Mountain Jews were killed by Armenians during 1918-1919"
21 April 2006 [20:57] - Today.Az
Day.Az presents exclusive interview with Rovshan Mustafayev, the Director of the Human Rights Institute of the National Academy of Scince.
- Mr Mustafayev, the facts of Jews' genocide committed by Armenians in Guba region were annonced today within a framework of round table orginized by you. Tell our readers what was the point of origin for such researches?
- Recently the representatives of Mountain Jews community appealed to our Institute and told us about tragic events which took place during 1918-1919 in Guba city. According to them during those years there were mass killings of Mountain Jews committed by Armenian bandits.
Semen Ikhiilov, Head of Mountain Jews' community, writes to the Human Rights Institute of the National Academy of Scince: "In 1980s I discovered uknown facts regarding to mass killings of Jews during the period of Azerbaijanis' genocide in 1918-1919. According to the witnesses and some documents, together with Azerbaijanis more than 3000 Jews were killed. For the moment we identified 87 names. Each year on March 31st, on the day of Azerbaijanis' genocide of 1918-1919, special requiem prayers for 87 killed Jewish children, women and men are being read in the synagogues. We continue the researches of other places of mass burial in the regions of our Motherland, Azerbaijan. This letter is accompanied with the list of victims, who were killed by monsters on 19th Iyar, 5679, in Guba city," the letter says.
Moreover, you can find in archives facts that during those times the Jewish problem was presented as the Tat problem, without a national identity. That's why it was a problem of genocide committed by Armenians against the Tat ethnic group of Azerbaijan.
After we received the message from Jewish community the experts group was created for working with archives. We discovered this mass killings were committed by group headed by Amazasp under Stepan Shaumian's command.
All the materials were collected by scintillas. But even though the information content is not so wide we can still receive faithful image of murderous deeds committed by Armenians against Mountain Jews, Lezghins, Azerbaijanis during those years in Guba.
- But what was a reason of killing Mountain Jews by Armenians?
- Jews just rejected proposal to join the Dashnak's brigade against the Muslim population and tried to prevent a bloodshed. But Jewish envoy was brutally killed by the Amazasp's brigade and the mass killings were started.
- How many persons killed by Armenians thugs were identified?
- For the moment we were able to identify 87 names. Moreover, we have numerous reports from Mountain Jews about their relatives being killed by Armenians and we are working on them.
There will be a stele erected by Mountain Jews in memory of the victims and the names will be written there. That's why the complete identification is needed.
- And how those killings of Mountain Jews were committed by Armenians?
- How? And how the mass killings were commited during the Holocaust, in Babiy Yar, Hojaly, Hatyn...? Recently we received a letter from the Azerbaijan's Georgian Jews Community offering their help in restoring historical truth.

It comes from the days when that sector was just outside the old walled city of Aleppo, and it was a summer resort, a picnic area to escape the heat of the city during the heat of summer.
Btw. Once there was an Armenian enclave just outside of Nor Gyugh known as Bostan P*s*a. (On this forum we don’t use that furkish word, see my post of “bosha”- http://hyeforum.com/...13484&hl=bosha). I wonder if it is still there.

AZERBAIJAN, TURKEY GOING TO SPLIT GEORGIA INTO AUTONOMIES?

PanARMENIAN.Net
07.10.2008 14:18 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ According to some Turkish and Azeri sources, Baku
and Ankara intend to increase pressure on Georgia for "federalization"
of the country.

Turkey and Azerbaijan are going to urge Tbilisi to restore Ajaria's
de facto autonomy, to grant a special status to the Azeri minority
of Kvemo-Kartli and repatriate Turks-Meskhetians to Georgia.

Ajarian autonomy has been actually abolished by Saakashvili's
government in 2004. Pursuing a tough policy of "georgification",
Tbilisi forces Ajars to register as Georgian Muslims. Turks-Meskhetians
are urged to restore "their Georgian surnames."

Azeri media quoted a source in the Foreign Ministry as saying that
Baku launches the procedure of granting Azerbaijani citizenship to the
residents of Georgia's Kvemo-Kartli (Borchaly). The source said that
upon completion of the procedure, Azerbaijan will demand a status of
autonomy for the region and in case of Georgia's rejection will send
troops there,
RBC-daily reports.

Meanwhile, Milliyet Turkish daily quoted a Turkish MFA official who,
on condition of anonymity, spoke of 'guarantees of Turkic population
in Georgia.' Creation of a federation is the only way to maintain
Georgia's territorial integrity, according to him.

AH! Those comedians in the north known as “gurjistan”.
Look at this map.

How much will it take to cut in the west and cut in the east to join “gurjistan” to “ermenistan”, and keep those rats of "hamidistan" and "alievistan" off of our back(sides)?
But! There are some major issues. Are the orthodox Russo-Georgian and the Armenian Apostolic Churches members of the same Christian Religion or are one and the other an offshoot of Islamo-furkish?

Russia is not aware which policy it conducts in the Caucasus, while the
West has done an open attempt to take the Caucasus away from Russia",
said Mubariz Ahmedoghlu, head of the center of political innovations
and technologies at a press conference by results of September.
"West wishes to drive Russia out of the Caucasus forever", said
Ahmedoghlu.
He considers that religion also interferes with the political
issue. The political scientist considers that the goal is to drive
Orthodox Christians out of the region.

"West wants only Catholicism to be present in the Caucasus", said
the political scientist. As for the financial losses after the war
between Russia and Georgia, Ahmedoghlu noted that Armenia also tries
to benefit from this issue.

"Georgia which was the direct victim of this war, said it lost
$170,000,000, while Armenia, which did not take direct participation,
announced that it lost $680,000,000.

This figure was confirmed by official Washington, which allocated the
due amount to Armenia. It means that West decided to provide financial
assistance for Armenia to get rid of Russia", said Ahmedoghlu.

He said West is confident that Russia must lose more than it gained
from war with Georgia. The political scientist noted that the most
loyal expert in Russia mentions $35-40 bln, while the most radical
$450 bln.

Dear Arpa,
Truly I have not stopped laughing for the past two days...thanks to you.

When I was growng up in "BUSTAN KLEB" we had an aunt that must have been the grannie of "Hayacinth... the british comedy involving a hen pecked hubby under the thumb of his nouveau riche (airs and phony graces) arrivee"

Our aunt insisted transforming crud and vulgar sounding Armenia/Arabic/Turkish names into westernised specifically franchified sounding homonyms...
Allow meto correct you about "Bustan Kleb"... the Arabic written address of this street at the Halab post office is "BustanKleb meaning exactly garden of dogs...!

Our aunt who was highly french educated arrivee, married to a renowned Adanatsi...but we did not dare using Adanatsi...She jumped furiously to correct all that they are Adaniote lolllllllllll. She was Sisstsy by birth but preferred Sissiote...earning her brothers' sarcastic rechristening her as Idiote... to the detriment and amertume of our aunt, whom all comers took the mickie on her by acting very franchified flowered speak and effeminate mimicry... This she interpreted as having an influance of civilizing most of the mechanics that worked in and around BustanKleb... Majority from Nor Qyugh or Heullug...most orphans that had grown up semi literate.
Now the piece de resistance " Our aunt in the 1930's had a revultion when hre rich husband presented her a new house in Bustan Kleb... according to our families lore she was so determined that this crud name was not adequate for her new address...during a big dinner party our aunt proceeds with a sermon about the crudity of Armenians and announces that the real name of her street is indeed "Bustan Gul Ab".....
I reluctanly E-mailed to by brothers and multitude of cousins...her offsprig spread accross the globe, as well as our doyen of the family at 97 yrs.old...your comment...

Seriouslyall thank you for prooving the furkish policy of changing names that in time become legitimate if history is forgotten and the new name sounds logical progression towards civility? or falsification...Ainsi va la vie.

Please do not take offence as I am relaying facts that I lived through.

On another occasionI will give some details of the area in Halab where Armenians were predominent considerong themselves the leaders of "Syrian Armenians".
This enclave from a radius of one kilometre from hotel Baron as the epicenter... has a colourful and ancient history predating 1915...

Big ballot boo-boo: Osama for president?
Rensselaer County gaffe makes national news after absentee ballots misspell Barack Obama's name
-----
TROY NY — It could have been Ovama or Ofama. Or even Olama.
But with one "s" the Rensselaer County Board of Elections turned a single wrong letter into a national embarrassment Friday.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's last name is spelled "Osama" on some 300 absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County hilltowns.
Is it a Freudian slip, intentional gaffe or a mistake? Voters are sure to have opinions, and one politician pointed out that the letters "s" and "b" are not exactly keyboard neighbors.
"Of all the letters to hit by mistake," County Democratic Chairman Tom Wade said. "Unfortunately it is a mistake which negatively impacts our Democratic candidate for president."
The typo was first reported Friday on timesunion.com, and quickly grabbed national attention.
"It was crazy, everybody across the country called," said Edward McDonough, the county's Democratic elections commissioner. He said calls came in from The New York Times, the New York Post, Daily News, Wall Street Journal and Court TV.
McDonough said he was one of the people who received a misspelled absentee ballot at home, and he didn't even notice it.
Elections officials on both sides of the aisle insist a simple typographical error caused the national embarrassment. "It was a mistake innocently done," McDonough said. "We catch almost everything."
Republican officials were apologetic. "We have three different staff members who proof these things and somehow the typo got by us," said Republican Commissioner Larry Bugbee. "We really apologize."
On Row 1A, Barack Obama's name is spelled Barack Osama — a name bearing an unfortunate resemblance to terror mastermind Osama bin Laden - but further down on the Working Families line it is spelled correctly.
The Obama camp took the controversy in stride.
"We're glad officials are working to correct this error and we assume it won't happen again," Obama spokesman Blake Zeff said.
McDonough said the absentee ballots with the error went out to voters in Brunswick, Nassau, Sand Lake, Schaghticoke and Schodack. Three voters called to report the error.
By day's end, officials decided to issue new ballots to all 300 voters. They realized some people might cross out the misspelling and write in the correct spelling.
"Election law is quite clear that any corrections done on a ballot will nullify the vote, so to be safe, we re-issued them," McDonough said.
One Sand Lake resident who caught the misspelling, and who asked to be anonymous, was skeptical. "It's a little suspicious and at least grossly incompetent," the voter said.
District Attorney Richard McNally said the incident is unlikely to produce a criminal investigation.
"Both sides are saying this is an honest mistake, so unless we find out otherwise, I don't see it going that way," McNally said.
Rensselaer County is the only county in the state that prints ballots in-house.
"It saves the taxpayers a lot of money," McDonough said.
Wade said it might be time to rethink that practice.

AZERI MINISTER COMES FROM NOYEMBERYAN

article's photo

After the October 1, 2008, Presidential election in Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev replaced Heydar Babayev on the position of Minister of Economic Development.

According to Day.az "the new minister was born in the region of Noyemberyan in Western Azerbaijan."

Azeris have developed a bad habit of "appropriating and distorting their neighbour's history and culture." The region of Noyemberyan belongs to Armenia from ancient times. Recently some spiritual and historic building on the frontier region have been captured by Azeris, among them the church of St. Sarkis built by Mesrop Mashtots.

Forgive me for bringing this highly serious commentary here under Comedistan.
My reason is to highlight some passages below. Perhaps we can learn a lesson or two in responding to the “ridiculous mockery” instead of getting bent all out of shape every time a furkish comedian passes some fetid gas. We should learn to respond to “farts” with even more “aromatic” ones and see whose smells better. Even more hilarious is that the judge’s name “ozsu” , which in fact means “pure water” is very reminiscent of their favorite word “osurukh”.
A long time ago, before the invention of paper, pencil, radio, TV and the internet, when there were very few means of entertainment, on clear summer nights the men would convene around a flat rock and have a what they called “osurukh mejlisi”**, i.e “farting contest“. Yes, they did talk about politics, economics and, of course the AG.But the highlight of the evening would be, who can produce the loudest and the most “aromatic wind".
**BTW, the Armenian word for that Arabo-Perso-furko word is "nist /նիստ", sitting.
Can we learn a lesson and rename “TARC”- furkish Armenian Reconcilliation Committee as “FART”- Fart Aroma Rating Tribunal?
QUOTE
Nov. 6 2008. Commentary Turkish Judge Publicly Criticizes Denial of Armenian Genocide By Harut Sassounian Publisher, The California Courier Scores of highly sympathetic articles about the Armenian Genocide have appeared in the Turkish press in recent months, despite Turkey's repressivelaws that make it a crime to discuss this taboo subject. One such article appeared in the October 30 issue of the liberal newspaper Taraf. It was authored by a very unlikely writer -- Judge Faruk Ozsu from Odemish, near Izmir. This is probably the first time that a sitting Turkish judge publicly expresses such daring thoughts in violation of article 301 of the penal code. He criticizes and mocks the Turkish government's distorted version of the Armenian Genocide that has been fed to the public for decades. Judge Ozsu asserts that Turkish denialists contradict themselves by first denying that anything happened in 1915 and then stating that those killings were committed "in defense of the homeland." Referring to the three Turks, recently sentenced by a Swiss Court for denying the Armenian Genocide, Judge Ozsu writes that contrary to widespread Turkish misrepresentation Switzerland did not restrict freedom of expression, but in fact upheld human dignity. Moreover, he ridicules all those who claim that "from the point of view of freedom of expression, Turkey is more advanced that Switzerland" -- a statement he characterizes as a hilarious comedy! In his judgment, those toeing the official Turkish line on the Armenian Genocide are "blind patriots" who accuse of treason anyone expressing the slightest human sensibility on this subject. Judge Ozsu describes himself as "a simple man who has not lost his conscience, despite his nationalistic education." He explains that since Switzerland has acknowledged 1915 as genocide, everyone in that country is obliged to obey the law of the land. He goes on to quote Elie Wiesel as saying that the denial of genocide is the continuation of genocide. That is why, the Judge writes,"it is mandatory that denial be deemed a crime." The Honorable Judge further contends that the denial of genocide is unrelated to the scholarly investigation of facts. He condemns French historian Gilles Weinstein and Turkish Professor Baskin Oran for claiming that "there are no documents proving that the killings were committed according to a government plan, therefore it is not possible to qualify these events as genocide." In the Judge's view, those making such comments are simply trying to save their necks from "the claws of article 301." In a direct reference to Dogu Perincek who was convicted by the Swiss Supreme Court last year for denying the Armenian Genocide, Judge Ozsu made the following observations: -- "Perincek's association bears the name of Talaat ***** who is viewed as a 'Turkish Hitler.'" -- "Those who declare that the Armenian Genocide is 'an imperialist lie,' show no respect for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, but exclaim: 'Long live the Ittihadists; we were right [to kill the Armenians] and we can do the same thing now,' then the only person who will pay attention to them isa Swiss judge." -- "Disputing the genocide, making racist statements, and praising the commission of a crime is now a legal issue in Switzerland, and not an attempt to seek the truth through scientific inquiry." To be sure, the Judge takes a dim view of his country's educational system which keeps Turks in a state of ignorance about 1915, while people outside Turkey, who have not had a "Turkish education," view things differently. Explaining that the term genocide was coined by a Polish-Jewish attorney named Raphael Lemkin in 1933, in the aftermath of the Armenian Genocide, and before the Holocaust had taken place, which means that "the Genocide Convention signedby Turkey was inspired by the Armenian Genocide." The Judge is particularly irate at the Turkish government's insensitivity toward the mass killings of Armenians. He states: "The official Turkish position is that during the war Armenians from certain regions were temporarily sentto the Southern region and during that period about 300,000 Armenians perished due to different circumstances. Any Turk who has not been through 'Turkish education' and has kept his conscience intact, upon hearing the 300,000 figure, would say, 'Oh My God' and will start thinking about that number." Consequently, the Judge suggests that the first thing Turks should do is "to state that we feel terrible regarding these events=80¦. Those who diedat that time were not our enemies, but our citizens. Some of those who died were children. No one can speak of children as enemies." Judge Ozsu concludes: "The Swiss Court's verdict is neither against democracy nor freedom of expression. Switzerland simply does not allow the events leading to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people to be characterized by racist and insensitive words that insult people's dignity. Switzerland simply does not allow that the victim be victimized for a second time!" Given the Turkish government's well-established record of punishing all factual references to the Armenian Genocide, we fear that this righteous judge may be dismissed from his job and even get imprisoned for simply telling the truth!

BAKU CONVINCED TEERY DAVIS OF “DESTRUCTION OF AZERI MONUMENTS” IN KARABAKH?

“Destruction of historical monuments in the occupied territories” of Azerbaijan is a blow to Azerbaijan, Europe and the entire world, the Council of Europe Secretary General said Tuesday in Baku. Mr. Terry Davis regretted protraction of PACE mission dispatch to Azerbaijan and Armenia. “The sides differ on the issue. So, the Council of Europe suggests that the mission should make the things clear,” he said, Trend Azeri news agency reports. It’s worth noting that the mission’s arrival has been several times frustrated owing to Azerbaijan’s demand that the European officials visit Nagorno Karabakh via the territory of Azerbaijan, what is impossible and absolutely inadmissible for the Armenian side.

Mayor of Batman sues WB, Nolan
Southeastern city in Turkey fights for name
By ALI JAAFAR
Batman has a new adversary: Batman.
The mayor of an oil-producing city in southeastern Turkey, which has the same name as the Caped Crusader, is suing helmer Christopher Nolan and Warner Bros. for royalties from mega-grosser "The Dark Knight."
Huseyin Kalkan, the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party mayor of Batman, has accused "The Dark Knight" producers of using the city's name without permission.
"There is only one Batman in the world," Kalkan said. "The American producers used the name of our city without informing us."
No one from the town of Batman has explained why it took so many years to take legal action. Batman first appeared as a comicbook character in 1939 and the "Batman" TV series started in 1966. Tim Burton's first bigscreen rendition for Warner Bros. came out in 1989. Undoubtedly the fact that "Dark Knight" is about to pass the $1 billion mark at the B.O. played a part in stirring the ire of the Turkish hamlet.
The mayor is prepping a series of charges against Nolan and Warner Bros., which owns the right to the Batman character, including placing the blame for a number of unsolved murders and a high female suicide rate on the psychological impact that the film's success has had on the city's inhabitants.
Former natives of Batman are also said to have encountered obstacles when attempting to register their businesses abroad.
The mayor is working on gathering evidence he claims will show that the city of Batman predates the 1939 debut of Bob Kane's superhero in DC Comics.
"We are only aware of this claim via press reports and have not seen any actual legal action," a Warner Bros. rep said in a statement.
While the town of Batman has suddenly shown great interest in the property, there's no evidence that the citizenry has ever shown much loyalty to the Caped Crusader -- not even on Halloween.

Another comedy with realistic outcome.

WORLD FINANCIAL CRISIS MADE AZERBAIJAN'S FUTURE RATHER VAGUE

PanARMENIAN.Net
10.12.2008 16:09 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Caspian oil and gas makes 4 per cent and 7 per
cent of the world resources respectively, what is undoubtedly not
enough to boast a glut of wealth, a French expert said.

"Two thirds of the oil world resources are concentrated in the
Middle East, a high-risk zone. As to Azerbaijan, it has 7 billion
barrels. To compare, Turkmenistan has 1 billion while Kazakhstan has
40 million. So, any oil pipeline from the Caspian region to Europe
is non-remunerative without Kazakh oil. Furthermore, Kazakhstan
can choose routes. Kazakh pipelines can stretch to Russian, China,
Persian Gulf and finally to Baku," Petros Terzian, head of Paris-based
strategic research foundation, said in Yerevan on Tuesday.

"The oil fields in Azeri, Shirag and Gyuneshli will be exhausted
in some 10 years. Moreover, after the status of the Caspian Sea is
determined, investments in oil extraction will become unprofitable,"
he said.

Mr. Terzian reminded that Azerbaijan's current oil income is equal
to the republic's state debt.

"Baku can make a breakthrough with $100 for a barrel, what is,
however, hardly probable for near-term outlook. The world financial
crisis made Azerbaijan's future rather vague," he said.

Rabbi traces lost Jews
The Head Rabbi in the Netherlands has announced the start of a search for Jews who don't know that they are Jews.

Benjamin Jacobs, who has been serving in the Netherlands since 1986, says there are many Jews in Holland who have no idea of their real backgrounds. He says many Jews were brought up by Christians during the Holocaust.

"I was amazed after realizing that people were born, grew up and died without knowing about their true roots," Jacobs says.

Hundreds of Dutch families took in Jewish children who either survived the holocaust or whose parents were killed by the Nazis.

The Rabbi sees hope in being able to find these people and help them to understand their past.

"There are enough archived documents that can shed light on the location of these children, many of whom are already quite elderly," Jacobs says.

note: what is this? it's funny, very funny - but this is something that our Armenians might consider looking into... something that we should do worldwide - tell people that they are Armenians and they should be Christian too... I think we could get a huge support from the Christians all over the world - promote Christians and tell them they are Armenian!!! Hit two birds with one bullet!
