Happiness is enjoying the moment - instead of thinking, thinking back to write your history, thinking/worrying about the future - no - just living and enjoying it and wanting more, whether you are with someone or alone. OK, maybe that is bliss.

Stormy - that was really said well....I think I can fully sign up to that definition (though perhaps one could be happy stidying history or conntemplating [our wonderful] future etc...eh)

And Accel - looks like once again I'm living your dream! LOL

sasun jan, thank you! but don't have the wrong perception of me 'being happy' alllll the time! we all have our ups and downs...i just choose to get up faster or at least WILL myself to get up faster and dust myself off than most!~~ gotta have the following mentality: i am cool enough and fun enough to enjoy my own company just as much as i enjoy the company of others~~gotta enjoy every moment of youth, health, beauty, intelligence, opportunity, friendships, family,....that we have :) :)

When I think of happiness, I think of a *dynamic* state, as opposed to an emotional stasis. Happiness , like joy, occurs with a free flowing and uninhibited emotional state of experience.

However, a positive emotional stasis may be "contentment".

To me , happiness is related to ecstasy .. to "stand outside of one's self" and reflexively -observe and experience- the subjective good, however one defines it.

oooooooh Azat dont get me started----money=happiness?? i doubt it!
as a famous rapper once said "mo' money mo' probems"

Damn moderators. Always want us to talk about the topic and never give us any room for fun.

Okay back to the topic...

Angel, have you seen the smiles in the office when the boss walks around and hands out checks? How can you say that money does not bring happiness? :)

Azat you may be right - but it's always temporary. I'd tend to agree with Vayri (a little, and , uh, welcome BTW) In my mind, happiness is not necessarily (or not only) an emotional state of being - simply because the emotion is temporary - happiness should not be defined as a 'feeling', frozen in one particular point in time. It is in constant flux - so you can be happy if you can objectively view your life in a dynamic sense (past, present & future) and feel satisfied that you are true to yourself, your values and those important to you.
