World Essay Competition for Students

As part of its outreach activities to students and young people, the World Bank is holding a World Essay Competition for students and young people. The competition will be launched in January 2005.

The topic of the essay Competition is: Building a Secure Future - Seeking Practical Solutions
1 - What are the most important obstacles today to a secure future? What is the greatest source of vulnerability in contemporary daily life?
2 - What solutions could be proposed to ensure a more secure future? How can these solutions be made to work on a large scale, in a wide range of societies?

We would like to explore with you - as a member of the WB's Researchers Alliance for Development Network (RAD) - if you and your institutition would be interested in being involved in this project.
