ARMENIAN-PORTUGUESE BUSINESS FORUM IN PORTUGAL

A series of Armenian-Portuguese business meetings were held lately in the capital city of Portugal Lisbon and Porto, the industrial center of the country. They were organized by the International Center of Human Development (ICHD) and the Armenian Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen with the assistance of the Armenian extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Portugal Edward Khojayan.

About twenty businessmen and state officials were included in the Armenian delegation. The Armenian consul in Portugal Michael Gyulbenkian took part in the works of the forum.

The chairman of the Armenian Development Agency Vahagn Movsisian, head of the Armenian Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen Arsen Ghazarian, representatives of the International Center of Human Development presented the general peculiarities of the Armenian economy and possibilities for making investments in our

country.

According to the ICHD, it was the first attempt of establishing mutually efficient relations between the businessmen of Armenia and Portugal, which was praised by the participants. It was particularly mentioned that the two countries have great potential for economic co-operation. An arrangement on organizing an Armenian-Portuguese business forum in 2003 in Yerevan was made.
