The Youth Foundation of Armenia organized a Tourism Expo in Northern Avenue in Yerevan, Armenia, on September 27, World Tourism Day. (United Nations World Tourism Organization marks World Tourism Day on September 27)
That day Yerevan’s Northern Avenue turned into a center of tourist novelties. Separate exhibition halls displayed the cultural features of each of Armenia’s ten regions – songs and dances, sights of interest and cuisine.
Travel agencies participated in the exhibition. The cultural events envisaged by the program presented to visitors Armenia’s cultural diversity.
The aim of the exhibition was to present Armenia’s tourist potential, enable travel agencies to develop contacts and raise public awareness of tourism and its social, cultural and economic value.
The traditional Armenian dances went all day long, and expo of array of different types of food from each Marz, tourism information for each Marz..
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan and representatives from the sphere of tourism attended the event.
