Bellyache and Bellydance.
We call it portakhagh/պորտախաղ, he says portapar/պորտապար
Below an article from here;
http://blog.ararat-center.org/?cat=5
In a nutshell, Armen Ayvazian talks about the impending and much anticipated opening of the furk-Armenian borders.
Among his concerns about the impact when cheap and shoddy furkish garbage will flood the markets, many Armenians going over for work, just as many furks coming over for work as well, the dilution of demography, overwhelming of Yerevan with circumcised men and headscarf clad women, the need for more mosques, he laments the fact that Armenian TV has already gone ahead with belly dancing and other harem culture contests. What will be next? Symbols of islam? Mass circumcision parties for men and haircuts for women?
What else is new? For over a hundred years our so called musicians and “ärmenian bands” have been waiting for this golden opportunity to show their talents in the art of “öud and dumbek’”, rabiz and other rubbish.
In addition to the belly dance culture, the article questions what other preconditions are being compromised. The recognition of the present Armeno-furkish boundaries? The ceding of the so called “occupied (boobjani) territories’?
=====
I can’t decide where to cut the following, so, here it is its entirety.
----
QUOTE

G-ologists.
Please! Don’t get me wrong.
My least favorite Subject Topic is the Big G. Our most shameful historical era, even if some of us may think it is the basis of our (non)existence.
Whatever happened to our G-ologists? No I don’t mean geologists/earth scientists, but the likes of MaCarthiologists and Domino-s et al?
What happened?
How come no one speaks about the BIG G anymore?
Is it all resolved?
Are we waiting for the borders to open?
Note that the border has been closed for the past 90 years.
How will the opening of the borders benefit Armenia?
How many trillion Armenians will cross over. Or how many trillion furks will invade across the border to buy our most sacred lands with their rotten liras, which is supported by the tax moneys of Armenians around the world.?
Buy Ejmiatsin and turn it into a museum mosque, or, worse yet to a barn?
.

Where have all our writers gone?
http://www.arlo.net/...wers-gone.shtml
Now that the Big G has been tabled, no, no, gone under the table.
Do we have anything else to talk about?
Am I blowing in the wind?

DOLDRUM
Ho-hum.
We are dazed and confused, we are between two “currents”.
A concerned forumer expressed the following in another thread;
QUOTE
How do we get the forum to awake from it's deep slumber? Is this where the forum is headed? Has this happened before?

Yes we have had such periods before but none so long and quiet. The best word I can think of is “doldrum”**, a calm inactivity, usually happens around the equator, between two weather systems, no wind, no breeze, so much so that one time sail ships caught in the doldrums would at times perish. This past month has been one of the most “powerful” of doldrums, caught between two currents.
I have heard on numerous occasions that our ethnic identity is formed, defined and based on the Big G, my least favorite subject. I have often asked the not so rhetorical question, as to what will happen, what will we talk about once it is resolved in one way or other. We will note, I brought this up before that our “G-ologists” have been silent for quite sometime. We have not even talked about those other people who lobby against us, and those hired pseudo-historians, another of my least favorite subjects.
None of the above caused such a doldrum as the present one. Once again we were caught with our britches down. We were dealt such a hit over the head, we became dazed, totally confused ՇՇՄԱԾ, we lost consciousness, we went into a “coma”, which is often a prelude to death. At times people have miraculously come out of coma, yet even then many will forever suffer of the effects.
We may emerge from this coma, albeit with much obvious and hidden injuries, but things will never be the same. Hopefully, when we emerge of this trauma we will learn to mind our own business instead of blaming those and other people for our setbacks, talk about ourselves, our strengths and weaknesses, about our “unity” and the lack thereof, stop this “ undeclared .war” between te Diaspora and Homeland, between “eastern and western” Armenians etc.
**
QUOTE
dol·drums (dictionary)
pl.n. (used with a sing. or pl. verb)
1. a. A period of stagnation or slump.
b. A period of depression or unhappy listlessness.
2. a. A region of the ocean near the equator, characterized by calms, light winds, or squalls.
b. The weather conditions characteristic of these regions of the ocean.
(From obsolete doldrum, dullard, alteration (influenced by tantrum) of Middle English dold, past participle of dullen, to dull, from dul, dull; see dull.)

WHY DO ARMENIAN NEWSCASTERS AND COMMENTATORS ON ARMENIAN TV SPEAK AS IF THEY ARE BEING CHASED BY A HORSEMAN OF THE APOCALYPSE?
Let me hear you recite the following six times fast.
Tongue twister;
She sells seashells on the seashore
Does any one understand him?
What the hell is he/she talking about?
Does anyone understand what he H Armenian commentaror/newscasters are taling about?
Don’t get me wrong, as a rule I can understand perfectly well, be it stanbol eremenije or Yerevan Hayeren.
Is this a contest of who can speak faster? Is she speaking Armenian or reading from cue cards written in Cyrillic? Where do our commentators learn how to speak? In ankara or Moscow?
Why do they try to speak so fast? Who is chasing them? mehmet on his eshek ot Ivan on his avanak? When did Armenian Time Հայկական Ժամանակ become so precious in Yerevan? What is the going rate? Two lumas a minute?
How do we choose our broadcasters?
One who can speak the fastest and the most unintelligible
Compare that to the likes of American broadcasters, who I am sure can speak faster than a speeding bullet, and recite “she sells sea shells on the sea shore” faster than any of us but when they go on camera they speak like this. Listen how he speaks on the air, not like he speaks in his kitchen;
http://video.google....07093717687504#
BTW. Peter Jennings knew a few choice Armenian words, after all those years in Beirut

I should have labeled this thread CONCERNS AND CAMPAIGNS
See how our campaign has borne “fruit” :ap:
http://hyeforum.com/...40
Also, see above where we spoke about “Artsakh” and “karakaka”, and our cuccinal (kitchen) engineers use of furkish words for our ingredients, which so far has not borne “fruit” once again.
We should re-wear or “campaign buttons” and once again assail those who may not know what is furkish and what Armenian. If they don’t know the Armenian words for those ingredients, the least they can do is use the English/Latin words for them.
Movses, you may not like this, what I have in mind is the word “duduk”/ whistle. The Armenian word for it is “soulich”. Yes, we know it is an onomatopoeic/bnadzayn, based on sound word, but when did we learn its furkish name? When Jivan plays in stanbol the natives know exactly what that word is, do those in Yerevan know?
http://www.yourdemoc...ges/whistle.jpg
To continue.

NEW AND IMPROVED HYFORUM FORMAT?

Why did we switch to this “new and improved?” Format at HyeForum?
What was wrong with the previous format?
Seems like it is not only idiot me is having trouble posting in Armenian fonts.
Look at some of the posts by our best cyber-savvy members,to mention a few, Nane, Zartonk et al who are still having trouble posting in Armenian fonts.
Can we make it more convoluted and complicated, like “enable HTML” etc.?
How about we download Chinese fonts? After all, according to some we are descendants of that Chinki-Armenian Vardan. :silly:
Seems like this new system is in compliance with Facebook I don’t subscribe to facebook, neither do I intend to.

Dear Mos, PLEASE!
When you write Armenian write in Armenian, that is if you can with this all screwed up system. I can read Armenian and Latin but when we write Armenian with Latin or Russiam spelling I get crosseyed and get a headache.

Where are our ever watchful ads and mods with their big erasers when these clowns take this HyeForum as their own personal trashcan?
http://hyeforum.com/...982#entry299493
http://hyeforum.com/...999#entry299485
Or, are our ever dilligent mods waiting until I use off color language when we talk about dolma and basturma?
Discussions about dolma and basturma belong in turkForum.
My hope and wish is that our mods erase or hide the above threads.
Let that clown aka FAF find another forum to spread his toxic vomit.
