ARMENIA-IRAN GOVERNMENT COMMISSION FOR COORDINATION OF BILATERAL CONTACTS TO HOLF SESSION IN YEREVAN
YEREVAN, JANUARY 16, ARMENPRESS: A recurrent session of the Armenian-Iranian inter-government Commission for coordination of bilateral ties will be held in Yerevan January 18-23.
The Armenian-Iranian Commission is headed by energy minister Karen Galustian and the Iranian-Armenian Commission is led by Iran's economy and finance minister Husein Namazi.
The Armenian foreign ministry told Armenpress that a group of Iranian experts will arrive in Yerevan January 18 to participate in consultations in various Armenian ministries.
Five working groups have been set up with participation of experts in trade-economic, energy, transport and communication, finance and banking sectors from both sides.
The Commission's plenary session will take place January 23-25. The main topic of discussions is supposed to be the construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipe-line, hydro power station on the border river Arax, construction of a tunnel in Armenian Kajaran which is supposed to connect Armenia with Iran, as well as signing of agreements on customs cooperation, border trade and culture.
