THE FOREIGN MINISTER OF ARMENIA APPEALED TO EUROPEAN UNION TO ACTIVATE PROGRAMS OF REGIONAL COOPERATION

16.06.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. In the course of his business visit to Brussels, the foreign minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian held meetings with the general secretary of the Council of the European Union Javier Solano and the head of the chief administration for foreign relations of the European Committee Gee Legra took place.
As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press service of the ministry of foreign affairs of Armenia, the sides discussed possibilities of more effective use of the assistance rendered to Armenia by the European Union. Vardan Oskanian also appealed to the European Union to activate programs of regional cooperation, and also to initiate new programs, in the field of new technologies in particular.
The head of the ministry of foreign affairs of Armenia stressed that Armenia strives for a full integration into European structures. The sides agreed to continue the negotiations at the session of the council of Armenia-European Union cooperation which is to take place on October 10 in Luxembourg.
